The third generation Explorer "Ref. 1016" manufactured from around 1960 to around 1989
During the long manufacturing period, various specification changes have been made.
Vintage Explorer.
The excellent dial design and the perfect 36mm size
This is a popular vintage model.
The item we have in stock this time is the early matte dial/MK1 manufactured around 1968.
The MK1 dial has a crown mark in a font that resembles a frog's leg.
This dial is called
a "frog leg" or
"frog foot."
The dial is original, but the hands have been replaced with Luminova hands.
There is some unnoticeable deterioration on the outer periphery of the dial,
It is in good condition and makes a good impression.
This particular watch will be sold at Rolex Japan in September 2022 (this month).
This is an overhauled product.
The middle case was also replaced at that time.
When replacing the needle and middle case,
It's a bit disappointing, but...
You can enjoy the new, unpolished case.
