The third-generation Explorer "Ref. 1016" manufactured from around 1959 to around 1990
The Vintage Explorer has undergone various specification changes over its long production period.
The model we are introducing this time is the L number, which is considered to be the final model number.
There is also the E model, which is produced in extremely limited numbers, but the L model is also a rare item that is rarely seen.
I have the impression that even the R number is becoming less and less common these days.
The dial is the final dial manufactured from around 1986 to around 1990.
A well-balanced and popular dial!
The dial has slight deterioration due to aging,
It is not noticeable to the naked eye and is in good overall condition.
The luminous hands are in excellent condition with no cracks visible.
Older models tend to be less prone to fading, and this particular model also has minimal fading in the luminous material.
There are small scratches on the case and bracelet, but they are not overly finished.
This is a high-quality specimen with well-defined edge lines.
The middle case is thick and the hairline is in good condition.
The lug shape is also crisp!!
The clasp code is "R",
Although it is a little older, the bracelet is in excellent condition!
It is crisp with absolutely no wrinkles.
The L number alone is rare, but this is an attractive product that comes with all the accessories.
Box (with reflector seal), warranty card (USA), international service warranty card (07), EX booklet (88),
We also have the Oyster booklet (88) and calendar (88-89).
It's nice that this is the final L model and comes with a warranty and an EX booklet that matches the year.
There are a few Ref. 1016s that come with a warranty,
It will continue to decrease in the future.
If you think about it, it's time to do it.
Incidentally, the 1988 EX booklet had the numbers 101600 and 16550A instead of 1016/0 and 16550.
What is 101600?
It's a mystery that seems trivial but isn't. If anyone knows, please let me know!
Wrist shot!!
Even though the luminous material hasn't burned out, this is a great piece with a great atmosphere!

The highly popular vintage Explorer "Ref. 1016"
This is the final L item and is in good condition with plenty of accessories, making it a recommended item!
Such a fine specimen is definitely rare!
This product has been overhauled at our affiliated workshop.
For customers looking for a collector's item of Ref. 1016,
Please consider this.
