The third generation Explorer "Ref. 1016" manufactured from around 1960 to around 1990
During the long manufacturing period, various specification changes have been made.
Vintage Explorer.
The model we are introducing this time is the L number, which is the final model number.
There is also the E series, which is produced in extremely limited numbers.
The L number is also a rare item number that you rarely come across.
I have the impression that even the R number is becoming less and less common these days.
The dial is a "5-type dial"
This is the final dial produced between 1986 and 1990.
A well-balanced and popular dial!
The dial has slight deterioration due to aging,
It is not noticeable to the naked eye and is in good overall condition.
The luminous hands are in excellent condition with no cracks visible.
It seems that older models are less likely to burn,
As expected, the luminous burn on this particular watch is minimal.
The case and bracelet have some small scratches, but they are not overly finished.
This is a high-quality specimen with well-defined edge lines.
The middle case is thick and the hairline is in good condition.
The lug shape is also crisp!!
The clasp code is "R", so
Although it is slightly older, the breathability is also excellent!
The red velcro seal is still on the buckle.
The bracelet is in a crisp condition with no sign of wrinkles at all.

By the way, the 1988 EX booklet is 1016/0, not 16550.
They were 101600 and 16550A.
