overview
Features
①Sky blue inspired by Yokohama
The biggest feature of this model is the vibrant sky blue dial. Also known as "Yokohama Sky Blue," this model expresses Yokohama throughout the dial, including the logo, second hand, scale, and letters, inspired by the clouds hanging in the sky over Yokohama in the morning, as well as the ships and white bridges that symbolize Yokohama Port. Although the dial may look simple at first glance, its appearance changes depending on the amount of light, and it is designed to make the most of the beautiful blue.
②Case design
The case design is based on the 62GS, which was called a masterpiece model among Grand Seiko models from the 1960s. The bezel-less structure makes the dial look spacious, and the Zaratsu polishing gives it a sharp, edgy design. (*Zaratsu polishing: A process used to prepare the surface before finishing the case . This is an essential processing technique for creating beautiful, distortion-free surfaces, resulting in a clear, beautiful, mirror-like finish.)
3. Equipped with 10-beat high-beat movement "Cal.9S85"
The movement is the 10-beat mechanical movement "Cal.9S85", assembled by skilled craftsmen at Grand Seiko Studio Shizukuishi. With a power reserve of approximately 55 hours and an average daily accuracy of +5 to -3 seconds, you can experience Grand Seiko's technical prowess. The see-through case back also features the familiar lion emblem. The navy-colored lion may have been chosen to represent Yokohama.
