Today we will be bringing you PART 2 of "7 Models That Commit Ginza's Appraisers and Staff Want."

When you visit a luxury watch store, you may wonder what kind of watches the staff working in the watch industry are wearing. Many people may find themselves looking at their wrists. After all, the watches worn by the "professionals" who work surrounded by watches every day, and the next watch they want to buy, are interesting in many ways.

So, following on from the last "Part 1", we would like to introduce " 7 " watches that the appraisers and staff at Commit Ginza (hereinafter referred to as our store) are actually eyeing! Please enjoy until the end.

① [Rolex][Rolex][Rolex] "Day Date" "Ref.18038" Champagne

Among the "Day-Date" models introduced earlier, there is the "Ref. 18038" with an 18KYG (yellow gold) case and bracelet, which was manufactured from the late 1970s to the late 1980s. The movement has been upgraded from "Cal. 1556" to "Cal. 3055" with a quick-change function, improving usability. This is a watch that is not only a valuable investment, but also has outstanding status.

The person aiming for this Rolex Day-Date Ref. 18038 is store staff member Takuma Koshoji . At first glance, he may look intimidating, but when you get to know him, you'll see that he's honest and serious, and everyone at the store relies on him as the leader. The fact that he chose the champagne dial of the Day-Date shows that he has a good understanding of his own appearance. (laughs) As he is the second person after Tojo to choose the Day-Date, I think you can see that it is a watch with such beauty that even professionals are captivated.

5. [Patek Philippe] "Perpetual Calendar" "Ref. 3940R"

The Ref.3940 was released in 1985 as a model equipped with the famous Cal.240 Q and the next generation perpetual calendar. Although the case diameter is 36mm, it is a little small, but the sub-dials are well balanced and it has a presence that exceeds its size. It is also a favorite of Patek Philippe's honorary chairman Philippe Stern, and is a model that captivates watch lovers. The long-selling model Ref.3940, which was manufactured for more than 20 years from 1985 to 2006, was developed in four materials: PT (platinum), 18KWG (white gold), 18KRG (rose gold), and 18KYG (yellow gold). There are relatively many models made of 18KYG (yellow gold) on the market, but there are various variations in the dial and back cover specifications (closed back or see-through back), making it a deep and famous model.

The person aiming for this Patek Philippe Perpetual Calendar Ref. 3940R is Yagi Takayuki , the main MC on YouTube. He has a bright and cheerful personality, but he is also a very serious and hardworking person. He is the face of customer service and the leader of the staff, and he leads Commit Ginza every day, wearing two hats as a YouTuber and a salesperson. It seems that he wants a Ref. 3940R from his birth year of 1988. I think this is a choice that only he could make, as he has actually used the Annual Calendar and World Time watches and is particular about his appearance.

⑥ [A. Lange & Söhne] "Datograph" "Ref. 403.035"

Next up is the Datograph, a model that was released in 1999 and is one that any mechanical watch lover would dream of owning at least once. In 2012, a power reserve display was added and it was renewed as the Datograph Up/Down, but this is the first model. Although the up/down display has improved convenience, this classic model is still very popular in terms of design, and the movement is the Cal. L951.1, which is said to be the most beautiful mechanical watch. The beauty of the watch seen through the see-through back is enough to make you sigh. The 39mm PT (platinum) case and black dial are a classic combination of mechanical watches, and it is a supreme watch that makes you want to own it someday.

The person who is aiming for this A. Lange & Söhne Datograph Ref. 403.035 is appraiser Kenzo Ito , also known as Doctor. On our official YouTube channel COMMIT TV, he mainly broadcasts how to handle and maintain watches, making use of his 20 years of experience as a watch repair technician, and has been very well received. You may have already guessed his gentle and polite personality, but when you talk to him, you will find that he also has a playful side (please come and see for yourself in store (lol)). He currently wears a Lange 1, so he must be one of the people who is fascinated by the high technical capabilities of the brand.

7. [Patek Philippe] "Perpetual Calendar Split Second Chronograph" "Ref. 5004J"

*Quote "Ref.5004R"

The last model to appear is the "Ref.5004", a grand complication model equipped with a "perpetual calendar", "split-second chronograph", and "moon phase", which any watch lover would aspire to own. The movement is equipped with the "Cal.CHR 27-70 Q", a hand-wound movement that is an upgraded version of the "Cal.2310" made by Nouvelle Lemania, and it is equipped with a perpetual calendar and split-second chronograph mechanism in a case that is only 37 mm in size. At the time, due to the difficulty of the manufacturing process, the production limit was one per month, about 12 per year. It is surprising that even though it has an 18KYG (yellow gold) case, it does not feel vulgar, but has elegance and aura. It is a truly exquisite piece that can be said to reign at the top of the [Patek Philippe] collection.

The owner and appraiser, Yasuharu Abe , is eyeing this Patek Philippe Perpetual Calendar Split Second Chronograph Ref. 5004J. He has often mentioned this model in his ongoing Patek Philippe theory, and has openly stated that he wants it so badly he would give it his all. Although Abe has come into contact with many extraordinary models in his long career as an appraiser, this watch has captured his heart and will not let go, making it a true collector's dream. I hope you will get your hands on it someday! (laughs)
