PHILLIPS

Founded in 1796, Phillips is a long-established auction house with over 200 years of history, originating from the UK.

Its history began in London, England, by Harry Phillips, who worked under James Christie, the founder of Christie's, but in 2008 it was acquired by the Russian luxury goods retailer Mercury Group. It holds auctions for a variety of items, including fine art, but is known to be particularly strong in auctions of watches.

This time, the evening sale of the "Art" auction to be held on May 18, 2022 is also attracting attention as it will feature Basquiat's "Untitled," part of the collection of former ZOZOtown president Yusaku Maezawa.
