These playful tributes to the planet celebrate the collaboration between the fortunate company that saved the Swiss watchmaking industry and the iconic makers of the Speedmaster Moonwatch. What sets this collection on the track is the fusion of the most innovative Swatch Bio-Ceramic material with the leading OMEGA Speedmaster Moonwatch. It features an asymmetrical case, the iconic "90 dot" on the tachymeter scale, and a distinctive Speedmaster sub-dial. All dials feature the OMEGA X SWATCH branding, the iconic Speedmaster logo, and the new MoonSwatch logo. A closer look at the glass construction reveals a "hidden" "S" incorporated into the center of the crystal. The circular pattern on the outer ring of the dial and the sub-dials brings a sophisticated touch to the design, complementing the sharp and smooth lug construction. The hours, minutes, chronograph seconds hands and hour markers feature Super-LumiNova for a perfect glow in the dark.

The caseback of each BIOCERAMIC MOONSWATCH has the mission text printed on it: "DREAMBIG – FLY HIGH – EXPLORE THE UNIVERSE – REACH FORTHE PLANETS."
Every battery cover on the back has an image of a planetary body that influences the design.

The battery cover features the designs of the planets, which is a really nice touch! The quartz movement is made by ETA and has the logo engraved on it.

"Without Swatch's vision and courage, OMEGA's long and unique history may have been shorter. The Moon Swatch collection celebrates Swatch's role in saving the Swiss watch industry in a witty and affordable way. The Swatch models are perfect for new Moon watch fans and couldn't be more fitting for this collaborative project. OMEGA went to the moon, but now we're exploring the galaxy. This is a great watch with captivating colors that are a joy to look at. "

As Omega CEO Raynald Aeschlimann said, this is a collection that fans will love, with its attractive colors. Let's take a look at the 11 different collections.

1. Mission to the Sun

Mission to the Sun

"Mission to the Sun" features a bright sun-brushed gold color that evokes the image of the sun.

This watch combines a bright sun yellow color, a sophisticated sun brushed dial, a white Velcro© strap, and orange accents on the chronograph second hand, sub-dial hands, and tachymeter scale. The color dial is sure to attract attention, and it's sure to be a great accent piece for your wrist in the coming warm season.

2. Mission to Mercury

Mission to Mercury

"Mission to Mercury" has a rugged impression with its dark gray color reminiscent of the rocky planet Mercury.

It has a dark grey dial and a metallic grey Velcro© strap, with white accents on the chronograph seconds hand, sub-dial hands and tachymeter scale. The chic colours make this a very cool piece.

➂ "Mission to Venus"

Mission to Venus

In Western countries, including Roman mythology, many of the names for Venus are female names, and the pink color of "Mission to Venus" likely expresses this image.

The combination of the white Velcro© strap with pastel pink and the diamond-like design on the oval subdial make for a strikingly feminine look.

➃ "Mission on Earth"

Mission on Earth

"Mission on Earth" features blue and green colors, reminiscent of the Earth.

The navy blue Velcro© strap, earth green case, and brown chronograph and counter hands give this watch a unique presence. The white color used for the sub-dials and tachymeter scale adds a nice accent and creates an exquisite balance.

⑤ Mission to the Moon

Mission to the Moon

[Omega] "Mission to the Moon" follows the exact design and dimensions of the "Speedmaster" Moonwatch.

The combination of the black Velcro© strap and steel grey case is just like the Moonwatch. Just like the original, all the hands and tachymeter scale are white, which is simply cool. (laughs)

⑥ "Mission to Mars"

Mission to Mars

"Mission to Mars" features a fiery red color reminiscent of Mars.

This watch contrasts the white used for the dial and Velcro© strap with the red used as a homage to Mars. The playful, spaceship-shaped, unique red hands are inspired by Omega's Alaska Project design, which is a very nice touch.

7. Mission to Jupiter

Mission to Jupiter

"Mission to Jupiter" features a bronze color reminiscent of Jupiter.

The combination of earthy colors, beige and black, gives this watch a calm and mature atmosphere. The orange accent color on the chronograph and sub-dial hands is reminiscent of the "Ultraman" model previously sold by Omega, and it is likely to become a collector's item.

⑧ Mission to Saturn

Mission to Saturn

"Mission to Saturn" is an all-brown colorway inspired by the planet Saturn.

This watch is a perfect blend of sandy beige and earthy brown, and the color of the subdial at 6 o'clock and the design of Saturn's rings give it a playful feel. It also has a vintage feel, so it's sure to be a popular piece.

9. Mission to Uranus

Mission to Uranus

"Mission to Uranus" is inspired by the colors of Uranus, also known as the Ice Giant.

As the name Pastel Airy Blue suggests, this sophisticated watch is a combination of only beautiful blue and white. With the continued popularity of the turquoise blue of the Rolex Oyster Perpetual, this watch is affordable and easy to wear, and is likely to become very popular.

10. Mission to Neptune

Mission to Neptune

"Mission to Neptune" is inspired by Neptune, which, like Uranus, is known as an ice giant.

The combination of dark navy and the black Velcro© strap has a slightly eerie and captivating impact. The white used for the chronograph hand, sub-dial hand, and tachymeter ensures visibility and balances the overall look.

⑪ "Mission to Pluto"

Mission to Pluto

"Mission to Pluto" features gray and burgundy colors, inspired by Pluto.

The burgundy color is perhaps a nod to the red, frozen methane on the surface of Pluto. The light cool gray case, dark gray Velcro© strap, black chronograph and sub-dial hands, and burgundy counters and bezel... this color scheme using burgundy as an accent color may be a color that will be popular in the future.

summary

What did you think.

This is a collaboration that can only happen with the Swatch Group. I'm sure I'm not the only one who thought, "I want this!"

Speaking of which, the latest Swiss watch industry research report by Morgan Stanley and Luxe Consult (a consulting company specializing in the Swiss watch industry) was released the other day. Omega, which is said to generate more than half of the operating profit of the entire Swatch Group, is ranked third in the estimated sales ranking for 2021 (second in 2020). With a share of 7.5% in the watch industry and sales of 2.2 billion Swiss francs (sales of 1.7 billion Swiss francs in 2020), these are by no means pessimistic figures, but it seems that they are aiming to raise the overall performance of the group.

As the Swatch Group, I wonder if they want people to experience the Omega design as an entry-level model, experience its quality, and then actually purchase an Omega brand watch. Personally, I think it's a great strategy to appeal to and broaden the base of people who have never been interested in watches before, and these kinds of attempts really make me feel happy. *Sorry for being so condescending (lol)

This product will only be sold at some Swatch stores, including the Shibuya and Harajuku stores in Tokyo and the Shinsaibashi store in Osaka. It will also be available online at a later date, so those who are far away can rest assured. ▶ Release date: March 26, 2022

⇩⇩

On the day of the sale, large crowds formed around the stores in Tokyo and Osaka, so the sale was suddenly canceled. It was switched to an online lottery sale. Since then, it has been traded at a premium price on flea market apps and auction sites. Since it is a model with a wide variety of colors, it is tempting to want all of them, but it seems like there is a long way to go... (lol)

see you!
