Patek Philippe entered the Chinese market with its long-time partner in Southeast Asia, the Melchers Group, and opened its first boutique in Shanghai in 2005 and its second boutique in Beijing in 2008. In October 2012, the former British Consul General's residence was renovated and the Shanghai boutique was relocated there. Since then, the boutique has played a key role in Patek Philippe's steady growth and advancement in the Chinese watch market, and has become a gathering place for many collectors and watch enthusiasts.

The first floor displays timepieces from Patek Philippe's current collection, while the second floor displays grand complications, high jewelry watches, and rare handcrafted models, and there is also a collector's lounge.
By the way, the interior design of the Shanghai and Beijing boutiques was done by Mrs. Gerdis Stern, the mother of the current president of Thierry Stern. She also designed the interior design of the Patek Philippe Salon and the Patek Philippe Museum in Geneva, and the talent of the current owners is amazing.

As mentioned at the beginning, the currently ongoing special exhibition "With Time" displays the new 2022 collection as well as precious pieces that highlight the craftsmanship of the museum, including historic timepieces such as domed clocks and pocket watches.
Also on display is Patek Philippe's limited edition "World Time" model, Ref. 5230P-010, which was specially produced for this anniversary, and is attracting a lot of attention.

As a side note, when Patek Philippe opened its Shanghai boutique, they also released a number of commemorative models. One of these is the limited edition World Time Ref. 5130, which comes in two models: the white gold Ref. 5130G-018 and the rose gold Ref. 5130R-017. The regular model has a city disc with the name of the city "HONG KONG" on it, but the commemorative model has "SHANGHAI" written in red.

The commemorative model "Ref.5230P-010" features a red color in the center of the dial, reminiscent of classical Chinese furniture and vermilion lacquer royal stamps, and yellow gold hour and minute hands and baton-shaped indexes. In addition, the regular model's 24-hour disc features a sun-motif logo at the 12 o'clock position, but this limited edition model has been changed to a star motif. The city disc is chic black, and the matte black hand-stitched (Kuzman) calfskin strap has red stitching to match the guilloche.

The sapphire crystal on the case back is decorated with the words "10 Years 2012-2022 Patek Philippe Maison Shanghai" transferred in red, and a diamond, a sign of platinum, is set between the lugs at the 6 o'clock position on the case.
