DAYTONA

Reference 116520

The model that Sapp purchased is the Daytona Ref. 116520, a long-selling model that has been around for over 15 years.

There are no major differences in specifications between this model and the current model "Ref. 116500LN," but there are clear design differences with a stainless steel bezel and silver subdials, making this a model that is popular with a wide range of people.

COMMENTS
The Ref. 116520 has been struggling to grow, sandwiched between the El Primero and the current model, but its reputation and popularity are steadily increasing! The watch that Sapp purchased is in dead stock condition with the protective sticker still attached, and comes with all the accessories, making it the perfect addition to any collection. We're looking forward to seeing what the future holds! Please take good care of it and appreciate it.

EXPLORER II

Reference 16550

The model that KS purchased was the Explorer II "Ref. 16550" with its eye-catching rich ivory dial.

The "Ref. 16550" is said to have appeared around 1984 as the successor to the first "Explorer II" model "Ref. 1655" that appeared in 1971. It was produced for about five years and there are several variations in the color of the dial, making it a mysterious reference.

The dial is available in three colors: black, white, and ivory, with ivory being said to be the rarest.

COMMENTS
KS's birth year watch is this rare ivory dial "Ref. 16550". What a fateful encounter! The color of ivory varies from one watch to another, but a watch with such a rich ivory is definitely rare. Appraiser: Kaneko called it "carbonara" because it was so rich, and it really is carbonara! Furthermore, the same color change between the dial color and the tritium luminous material is flawless, and it's simply cool. I'm really jealous that you were able to find such a watch for your birth year watch!

OYSTER PERPETUAL

Reference 15000

The watch that HI purchased is the Oyster Perpetual Date "Ref. 15000," a direct descendant of the original Oyster, the world's first waterproof wristwatch, which has been the foundation of Rolex's reputation since 1926.

Made from exclusive Oystersteel and featuring sophisticated finishing, it is said to be the purest form of a wristwatch chronometer.

This watch is about 40 years old, but the case, bezel, and bracelet are all in good condition, and the silver dial makes it a great piece for everyday use.

COMMENTS
Thank you to HI-san, who wrote "personality" at the end of the survey! Appraiser: Nemoto was also very pleased! He is still new to Commit, but his skills as an appraiser are solid! I'm a little biased, but he has grown steadily since joining Commit, and recently he has become such a reliable appraiser that he has gained a growing number of fans on "Commit TV" under the nickname "Nemochi". Please continue to call him "Nemochi" in the future!

Q.What was the first luxury watch you bought?

- Rolex Explorer I Ref. 214270 (Around 19 years old)

- Customer service and store atmosphere

WATCH DETAILS

ROLEX

EXPLORER I

Reference 114270

The watch that YS purchased was the two-generation previous model of the Explorer I, the Ref. 114270.

The no-frills, perfect design inherited from the first generation has made this a popular model throughout the ages. The 36mm case diameter is well-balanced for the slender Japanese.

"It's been a while since I've come across such a good watch," said YS, who told us about this excellent watch. The case is in excellent condition and has sharp edges. The V-numbered "Ref. 114270" is a high-year model with a roulette engraving, and is a model that is likely to become a valuable investment in the future.

COMMENTS
YS-san loves cars. As expected, car lovers also love watches! The first watch he bought with his first year bonus was the previous generation "Explorer I" "Ref. 214270", but the fact that he enjoys different sizes shows that he is a real watch lover. I understand the feeling of getting addicted to the "Explorer" swamp and wanting to collect them. (lol) If we go back in time, the next one would be the "Ref. 14270" or even the "Ref. 1016". If you are interested in vintage watches, please feel free to contact us. The same "Explorer" has a different charm.
