We receive many requests (interest) from customers requesting that we restock items, and while there are models that are rumored to be popular on the street, sometimes unexpected models become popular as well.
In this article, we will introduce some of the most popular models that you would not normally get to know about! Please enjoy until the end!
*As of June 2024, the models selected were those that have been requested to be restocked within the past three months.
If you are interested in any of the watches, please register your interest in them now.
① "Calatrava" "Ref.3796R"
*Source: https://commit-watch.co.jp/products/tl72xc90
The Calatrava "Ref. 3796" has a case diameter of 30.5 mm and was produced from around 1982 to around 2000.
The combination of applied gold applied indexes, gold dolphin hands, and ivory dial creates a unique atmosphere. Following the flow of the original Calatrava "Ref.96", the lugs are integrated into the middle case, and it is a very complete model that incorporates the good parts that have been inherited so far in a modern way. Although cases have become larger in modern times, the "Ref.3796" is attractive for its slightly smaller case diameter. It is becoming less and less on the market every year, and the overall market price is rising, so we may be receiving requests from people who want to get it early.
② "Calatrava" "Ref.5026G-001"
Next up is the Calatrava Ref. 5026G , which was only produced for five years from around 1997 to 2007 .
This watch, which is popular among connoisseurs, features applied Breguet numerals on the dial index and a small second hand at the 4 o'clock position. The case is a little small at 33mm in diameter, but its greatest feature is the classical Breguet hands. As the number of these watches in circulation is very small, we receive many requests for this watch on a regular basis.
➂ "Calatrava" "Ref. 5116R-001"
*Source: https://commit-watch.co.jp/products/719u63lu
The Ref. 5116R-001 in 18KRG (rose gold) was released following the discontinuation of the 18KWG (white gold) in 2013.
This watch has a 36mm case and a Clous de Paris bezel, and has the word "EMAIL" at the 6 o'clock position on the dial, indicating that the dial is made of enamel cloisonné. As it has an enamel dial, the number of watches produced is limited, making it highly rare. In addition to its design and asset value, it is also easy to use and fits well on the wrist of Japanese people, so it is probably popular with many people.
4. Calatrava "Ref. 5196G-001"
*Source: https://commit-watch.co.jp/products/295s95z6
The Calatrava Ref. 5196 was born in 2004.
This is a popular model with the number "96" in the reference (model number) and commonly known as "Kunroku." The case is available in 18KYG (yellow gold), 18KRG (rose gold), 18KWG (white gold), and PT (platinum). The simple dial is subtly accented with a small second hand modeled after the Calatrava cross, making this the ultimate dress watch. Attracted by its sophisticated and dressy look, this popular model continues to receive many requests even though it has been discontinued.
⑤ "Calatrava" "Ref. 5226G-001"
*Source: https://commit-watch.co.jp/products/b4yq4mde
The Calatrava Ref. 5226G-001 was announced at Watches & Wonders Geneva 2022 as a simple three-hand model with a date display.
This watch features a black gradient textured dial with applied Arabic numerals, a nubuck calfskin strap, and syringe-shaped hands reminiscent of syringes, giving it a vintage feel. The watch also features attention to detail, such as the "Clou de Paris" decoration on the case side, which was often used as a bezel decoration. The movement "Cal.26-330 SC" is highly convenient, with a hack function (stop second) and no longer prohibited from changing the date. This is an attractive model with excellent design and functionality, and we have received many requests for it.
⑥ "Perpetual Calendar" "Ref.5140G-001"
Next, we would like to introduce the Perpetual Calendar "Ref. 5140", which was produced from 2006 to 2016.
Born as a successor to the long-selling model "Ref. 3940" that was manufactured for about 20 years until 2006, this model has a case diameter of 37.2 mm, which is about 1.2 mm larger than the previous 36 mm, and the overall appearance is well balanced. The dial design has longer bar indexes and larger numbers and letters on the sub-dial, which greatly improves visibility. The movement that can be viewed through the see-through back is the "Cal. 240 Q", which has been in active use since it was adopted about 40 years ago. The case thickness is also kept to 9 mm, so it fits well on the wrist and may be in demand from people looking for a refined and elegant watch.
7. "Perpetual Calendar Chronograph" "Ref.5270P-001"
The "Ref. 5270P-001" is the first "Perpetual Calendar Chronograph" that uses an in-house movement instead of the Lemania movement found in the previous "Ref. 5970".
While the Lemania movement has a vibration rate of 18,000 vibrations per hour, the Cal. CH 29-535 PS Q has a high beat rate of 28,800 vibrations, and a new hack function (stop second) has been added to stop the second hand. In addition, the leap year notation is located at 4-5 o'clock and the day & night notation is located at 7-8 o'clock, improving practicality. The case size has been changed to 41mm, 1mm larger than the Ref. 5970, but the square pushers, leaf hands, and lug shapes have been faithfully inherited. The popular salmon dial is equipped with Arabic numerals indexes that are only used in PT (platinum) models, giving it a special finish, so it may be that it is requested as a watch for those who want to graduate.
8. Perpetual Calendar Chronograph : Ref. 5970P-001
The fourth generation "Perpetual Calendar Chronograph" "Ref. 5970P-001" was announced at Baselworld in 2004.
While inheriting the square push buttons seen in the first generation "Ref.1518" and the early model of the second generation "Ref.2499", the tachymeter on the outer periphery of the dial, and the classical design of the third generation "Ref.3970", the case size has been increased from the conventional 36mm to 40mm, and it has been reborn. This PT (platinum) version was announced in 2009, but was discontinued after a short production period until 2010, and it is said that only 300 to 500 pieces were produced. Also, unlike the "Ref.5970" made of other materials, the notation at 6 o'clock is not "SWISS" but the tachymeter number "120". The fact that it is equipped with the last Lemania movement ebauche "Cal.CH 27-70 Q" may be the main reason for the requests we have received.
9. Perpetual Calendar Chronograph "Ref.3970"
Next, we would like to introduce the Perpetual Calendar Chronograph "Ref. 3970", which was produced from around 1986 to around 2004 .
This "Ref. 3970" is a model that has undergone many minor changes, such as the indexes being baton-shaped and the hands being leaf-shaped in the early stages of production, and the indexes being changed to triangle-shaped and the hands to baton-shaped in the later stages. In particular, the back cover is an important point, with the first generation being a snap-back (inserted type), the second generation being a screw-back (screw-in type), and the third generation being a see-through back (with a closed back). The perpetual calendar mechanism and chronograph mechanism are well-balanced on the dial, and everyone will be overwhelmed by its beauty. Among the many Patek Philippe models, we have received requests for this as a candidate for a watch to be worn at the end of the season.
10. Annual Calendar "Ref.5036/1G-017"
The "Ref. 5036/1G" was released in 1998 and is the successor to the "Ref. 5035," the world's first watch to feature an annual calendar mechanism .
The previous model, Ref. 5035, which was released in 1996, won the Watch of the Year award in the same year. The Ref. 5036/1G introduced this time has been changed from an alligator strap to a bracelet, and the dial layout has also been boldly changed, with the power reserve display at 12 o'clock and the moon phase and brand name at 6 o'clock. (Ref. 5035 has the brand name at 12 o'clock and the 24-hour display at 6 o'clock.) The technical and design capabilities of Patek Philippe, which combines the annual calendar mechanism in a perfect layout in a slightly small 37mm case, are attractive. It may be that the bracelet specification, which is rare for Patek Philippe, is requested because it is easy to use even in the summer.
