Whether you own a luxury watch or not, I'm sure everyone has wondered at least once, "Which models are popular?" While everyone has their own motivations, such as "I want a popular, classic model!" or "I want a model that no one else has!" , it's difficult to know which models are actually popular unless you get real-time information.
So, this time, we will be revealing the top 5 Patek Philippe models available at Commit Ginza (hereafter referred to as our store) for the second half of 2025, focusing on luxury watch brands. We hope you will join us in imagining the rankings and enjoy the read.
5th place
Aquanaut Extra Large "Ref. 5167/1A-001"
Coming in fifth place is the Aquanaut Extra Large "Ref. 5167/1A-001" with a stainless steel bracelet, which was added in 2008.
This model differs from the "Ref. 5167A-001" in the bracelet specifications, but it has a more luxurious feel than the tropical band model and is more suitable for business situations. You can also purchase a tropical band separately, so it's a great point that you won't get bored of using it. Prices seem to be gradually rising, so if you've been eyeing this model, consider getting it soon!
4th place
Calatrava "Ref. 5226G-010"
Coming in fourth place is the Calatrava Ref. 5226G-001, a simple three-hand model with a date display that was announced at Watches & Wonders Geneva 2022 .
This watch features a black gradient textured dial with applied Arabic numerals, a nubuck-finish calfskin strap, and syringe-shaped hands reminiscent of syringes, giving it a vintage feel. Attention to detail is also evident, with the "Clous de Paris" pattern, often used as a bezel decoration, now applied to the case side. The movement, "Cal. 26-330 SC," features a hacking function (stop-seconds) and no longer has a time-locked date change zone, making it a highly convenient model. This is an appealing model with excellent design and functionality, and we recommend seeing it in person to experience its merits for yourself.
3rd place
Aquanaut Travel Time "Ref. 5164A-001"
Coming in third place is the Aquanaut Travel Time (Ref. 5164A-001) with a stainless steel case, which was released in 2011 .
Equipped with the Cal. 324 SC FUS movement with a travel time function, this watch can simultaneously display two time zones, making it especially convenient for those traveling abroad. The striking 40.8mm case diameter x 10.2mm case thickness and black embossed dial combination may appear understated at first glance, but when worn, it makes a striking statement. Its sporty feel and simple coloring make it suitable for both on and off-duty wear, which is likely why it's so popular.
2nd place
Aquanaut "Ref. 5167A-001"
In second place is the long-selling model "Aquanaut" (Ref. 5167A-001), which has been on sale since its introduction in 2007.
While there are models with attractive designs and functions, such as the "Chronograph" and "Travel Time," the three-hand model with only a date display is a timeless model that you will never tire of thanks to its simple design. With a moderate case diameter of 40.8mm and a case thickness of 8.1mm, it fits comfortably on the wrist, making it easy to coordinate with formal attire such as a suit, as well as casual styles for your off-days. Prices on the secondary market are stable, and it is attracting a lot of attention as a watch with excellent investment value.
1st place
Nautilus Petite Complication "Ref. 5712/1A-001"
Taking the honorable first place is the Nautilus Petite Complication "Ref. 5712/1A-001," which was released in 2006 to commemorate the 30th anniversary of the Nautilus.
There have been no changes to the design or movement itself from the previous model, Ref. 3712/1A-001, except that the movement standard has changed from the Geneva Seal to the Patek Philippe Seal, and the bracelet links have been changed from screws to pins, which are removed by hammering. Following the popular three-hand Nautilus, this watch has been discontinued, and its secondary market price has gradually risen, so if you've been interested, we recommend you get your hands on one soon.
summary
What did you think?
As expected, the Nautilus and Aquanaut were the strongest, but the Calatrava, which has a different style from the traditional Calatrava, also made the list. However, in the secondary market, the Nautilus and Aquanaut still have overwhelming strength, and due to the impact of being discontinued, prices have been pushed up overall. The number of discontinued models will continue to decrease in the future, so if you have a favorite, we recommend that you get your hands on one as soon as possible.
