The Royal Oak Extra-Thin "Ref. 16202BC.OO.1240BC.02" features a dial with a granular finish called "Blue Grain" rather than the traditional Petit Tapisserie.
This was inspired by the "Tuscan Blue" dial of the Ref. 14802PT, a limited edition of 20 pieces made of platinum, released to commemorate the 20th anniversary of the Royal Oak. Speaking of the Ref. 14802PT, it was auctioned at the "The Royal Oak 50th" auction held by Phillips in May 2022, and was sold for 804,400 Swiss francs (over 100 million yen in Japanese yen).

The new model "Ref.16202BC.OO.1240BC.02" uses 18KWG (white gold) for the case and bracelet, so it will shine differently from the SS (stainless steel) model. In addition, the movement is equipped with "Cal.7121", which was redesigned to commemorate the 50th anniversary of the "Royal Oak" in 2022. Although the number of units to be sold has not been announced, it will be produced in limited quantities, so it is likely to be a fierce battle to get one.

The "Royal Oak Automatic" (Ref. 15550BA.OO.1356BA.01) features a gorgeous combination of natural turquoise and 18KYG (yellow gold) case and bracelet.
The turquoise color boom has been started by Rolex and Patek Philippe, and now the Royal Oak is riding the wave. The calendar disc background color is also turquoise, which shows Audemars Piguet's attention to detail. The case and bracelet are made of 18KYG (yellow gold), and the movement is equipped with the Cal. 5900, which was redesigned to commemorate the 50th anniversary of the Royal Oak in 2022. The 37mm case is comfortable on the wrist for Japanese people, so it looks like it will be popular considering the design and ease of use.

The Royal Oak Offshore Chronograph, Ref. 26238CE.OO.1300CE.01, is the first in the collection to be made from black ceramic.
The "Offshore" series has many models with rubber straps or alligator straps, but using ceramic for the bracelet, which has a unique rounded shape, may have been a big challenge for Audemars Piguet. Also, although the collection has a wide variety of color and material combinations, I think many people were concerned about the weight. Although this new model is a bracelet, it is all-ceramic, so the weight is less, and I think it will gain popularity along with its design.

The CODE 11.59 "Ref. 15210" is the collection's first stainless steel model and is available in three colors.
The colorful gradient dial, which was a feature and popular element of the CODE 11.59, has been redesigned to a guilloche dial with a subdued concentric pattern in smoke beige, dark green, and night blue. The indexes "12, 3, 6, 9" have been changed from Arabic numerals to simple bar indexes, and the date display, which was located at 4:30, has been moved to the 3 o'clock position, giving it a classic look. I think there will be mixed opinions about the dial pattern and color created with the cooperation of guilloche craftsman "Jan von Könel", but what do you think of it? Also, the price is set high because only the smoke beige dial "Ref.15210QT.OO.A064KB.01" uses ceramic for the middle case, but the addition of the SS (stainless steel) "CODE 11.59" to the lineup makes us have high expectations for the future development of the collection.

Which model caught your eye? The popular Royal Oak was aimed at the high price range, with gem-set models and solid gold materials. In contrast, CODE 11.59 has introduced the popular SS (stainless steel) material that is easy to use in daily life. Until now, they only offered solid gold and combination models, so perhaps they were aiming to lower the barrier to entry. In addition, the sudden release of ultra-high-end models such as the Super Sonnerie may be an announcement that they will be putting more effort into the CODE 11.59 collection.
Well, Audemars Piguet is also starting certified pre-owned, but this new release seems to be focused on a strategy to further enhance branding.
