Good evening everyone.
In this edition of Patek Philippe, I would like to talk about the Calatrava "Ref. 6119R-001" 18KRG, which I briefly mentioned when the new model was announced.
Actually, I had been planning to write about it when it arrived last time, but it was soon sold out so I wasn't able to write about it. This time, I have written a detailed article, so please enjoy it until the end.
"Calatrava"
"Ref.6119R-001" 18KRG
The "Ref. 6119R-001" was announced in 2021 with an 18KRG (rose gold) case. While it is based on the design of the "Ref. 5119", which was discontinued in 2019, the case diameter has been enlarged from 36mm to 39mm.

This time, we also have in stock the 18KYG (yellow gold) case "Ref. 5119J-001" and the 18KRG (rose gold) case "Ref. 5196", so we will be comparing them and discussing them.
First of all, you may think that the Ref. (reference) is a successor to the "Ref. 5119?", but you will see that the case shapes are similar but not the same.
The case design of the "Ref.6119R-001" flows seamlessly from the case to the lugs, reminiscent of the original "Calatrava" "Ref.96". The successor to the "Ref.96", the "Ref.3796", which has been seen less and less recently, was released in 1982, and the "Ref.3796D" with its guilloched "Clou de Paris" pattern was also released around the same time. It may be easier to understand if you think of it as a larger version.

The sturdy lugs resulting from the larger case may be more similar to those of the "Ref. 5196."
The most distinctive feature of the "Ref. 5119" and "Ref. 6119" is undoubtedly the bezel decorated with the Clous de Paris pattern.
I'm sure all watch lovers have heard of this unfamiliar "Clou de Paris" (in English, bob nail pattern), but what kind of design is it? It's a pyramidal stud pattern. I think you'll get a general idea of what it is when you actually look at the bezel.
The fact that the Clous de Paris is double decorated can only be described as beautiful.
The Ref. 5119 has a clear white dial, Roman indexes, and thin, clean leaf hands, giving it a simple and elegant look.
In contrast, the "Ref. 6119" has a grained silver dial and gold applied indexes. It also has the same dolphin-shaped hour and minute hands, but they are more three-dimensional and have a design on the tips, showing attention to detail. A rail-shaped minute scale is printed on the outer edge of the dial, making it highly legible.
And the most notable feature is that it is equipped with the new movement "Cal.30-255PS", which has a larger diameter of 31mm.
The conventional movement, "Cal.215 PS," has a diameter of 21.9 mm and the small second hand is toward the center, which made the dial balance a little worrisome, but with the installation of this larger movement, the position of the small second hand has been lowered and placed in the appropriate position. The view from the skeleton back is also simply breathtaking.
Of course, the movement hasn't just been enlarged; it also has a 65-hour power reserve and a hack function (stops the second hand when you pull the crown), which is a welcome upgrade.
The condition of the item being introduced this time is that there are a few small scratches and scuffs due to use, but it has been worn very little and is in excellent condition. The warranty date is June 2021, so there is still time left on the manufacturer's warranty. The condition of the accessories is also very good, which is another reason to recommend it.
The selling price at our store is ¥3,960,000- (tax included)
It seems that the domestic regular sales price of [Patek Philippe] will be revised from February. At this point, it is not clear how much the price will increase compared to the current price, but there is a high possibility that the used market price will also increase accordingly. There are currently few units for sale, so this is a great time for those who are looking for one.
