Good evening everyone.

Last year was a very enjoyable year, with many customers coming to Commit Ginza (hereinafter referred to as our store). We would like to thank all of our customers for their patronage.

My column focuses on Patek Philippe, so I will continue to work hard every day to introduce attractive Patek Philippe watches this year. I am also very happy when customers who come to the store or call me tell me that they always watch COMMIT TV (YouTube). I would appreciate it if you could leave as many comments as possible so that I can provide even more useful information.

Well, this is the first Patek Philippe article of the new year.
"What will happen at Patek Philippe this year? A big prediction"
I would like to send you this article under the title "What is the meaning of 'what ...

Introducing the new "Nautilus"!?

※Reference: patek.com

The first thing that will definitely be talked about is whether or not the new Nautilus will be released.

Relatively early last year, it was decided to end production of the 3-hand model "Ref. 5711/1A-010" with a stainless steel case, which had been the driving force behind the popularity of the Nautilus, and to replace it with the new "Ref. 5711/1A-014" with a green dial and the "Ref. 5711/1300A-001" with a baguette diamond bezel. It was announced that the production period for these models would be one year only.

Our store was lucky enough to obtain one "Ref. 5711/1A-014", but it has now become an extremely difficult model to obtain, both in terms of numbers and price.

I think that the end of production of the 18KRG (rose gold) three-hand model "Ref. 5711/1R-001" will be announced soon. Incidentally, when rumors circulated last year that a new model was coming out, it was said that the case diameter would be 41mm. If you think about it that way, it all makes sense, and I think it could be a hint at the announcement of a new model.

Discontinuation of "Aquanaut"

※Reference: patek.com

Next, we would like to introduce "Aquanaut," which is celebrating its 25th anniversary.

If you notice, the current model, the Ref. 5167A-001, with three hands, stainless steel case and tropical band, is also a long-selling model that was released in 2007. Moreover, it has been 15 years since its release, which is a nice round number. This is the same as the Nautilus, and after the announcement of the end of production of the current model, it may be produced for a short period of time with a different dial color (the current trend of green), or like the Nautilus, it may be equipped with a new movement, the Cal. 26-330 SC! I have a feeling that something is going to happen.

By the way, as I have mentioned before in my Patek Philippe theory, there is a special order Aquanaut "Ref. 5167A-010" with a khaki green dial similar to the current "jumbo size". It has been confirmed to be up for auction at an overseas auction in the past. After looking into it with interest, it seems that only about 10 pieces were produced. Personally, this size (40.8mm) suits me best, so I would love to see it released as a new model. Also, like the Nautilus, there may be a model with a petite complication, annual calendar, or even a perpetual calendar mechanism.

"Calatrava" "Ref. 6196"!?

※Reference: patek.com

Lastly, we have the Calatrava, which became a hot topic last year when its new models, Ref. 6119G-001 and Ref. 6119R-001, were announced.

The "Ref.6119" is equipped with the newly developed movement "Cal.30-255 PS" with a power reserve of 65 hours, and the case size is now 39mm. The "Clou de Paris" bezel is also very impressive, and I think it is a more luxurious and complete "Calatrava" than ever before.

In fact, the "Ref. 5196" of the "Calatrava" series is a long-selling model that was released in 2004. Moreover, this year marks the 90th anniversary of the release of the original "Calatrava" "Ref. 96" (1932). Could it be that the successor model will be the "Ref. 6196," which will be equipped with the newly developed movement installed in the "Ref. 6119," with a case diameter increased from 37mm to 39mm, and a skeleton case back?! My imagination is running wild (lol).

There are no models that follow the tradition of the "Ref.96" with a skeleton case back, but the newly developed movement is worth showing off, so it's not impossible, right? My prediction may end up being a false start, but this year could be more interesting than ever.

summary

What did you think.

I made a lot of predictions, but even if I didn't make any predictions, there's no doubt that some attractive models will be released. On the other hand, there are also models that will be discontinued, much to everyone's regret. I had fun writing this, but somehow I have mixed feelings. (laughs)

Finally, there is one thing I'm looking forward to. It is said that the next "Patek Philippe Watch Art Grand Exhibition" will be held in Japan. It is not clear whether it will be this year or next year, but there is no doubt that many hot topics will be announced, and there will be a fierce battle to purchase them. I'm already excited about it.

So, this concludes the first Patek Philippe discussion of 2022.
I hope to be able to talk about Patek Philippe with many customers this year as well!

see you!
