Well, in this article on Patek Philippe, I would like to introduce some recommended models that can be purchased for under 3.5 million yen . In recent articles on Patek Philippe, we have introduced many high-priced models, so this article may give you a sense of familiarity. Please enjoy reading until the end.
[Recommended models that can be purchased for less than 3.5 million yen]
"Ref.5110R-001" World Time 18KRG
The first one we would like to introduce is the World Time "Ref. 5110R-001".
The World Time, which first appeared in the 1930s, was an auction piece model that could only be seen at overseas auctions until a few years ago.
By pressing the push button at the 10 o'clock position, the central 12-hour clock, the rotating ring for 24-hour display located on the outside, and the city name ring located outside of that all move in unison, making for a groundbreaking evolution. This was released in 2000 as "Ref. 5110."
In 2006, the size was increased and the design of the hands and dial was slightly changed to become the "Ref. 5130", and 10 years later in 2016, the current model, "Ref. 5230", was released.
※Ref.5230 18KWG
The current model has no crown guard, and the lugs, case shape, hands and dial design have been significantly changed, and the case diameter is slightly smaller at 38.5mm. It is available in 18KWG (white gold) and 18KRG (rose gold).
The movement is the "Cal. 240 HU", a movement that Patek Philippe is proud of and has been passed down to the current model "Ref. 5230". The case size and movement size are perfectly balanced, and the sight of it peeking out from the skeleton back is a beauty you can look at forever.
The current belt and the belt that came with the watch show signs of wear, but the original matte black belt and an aftermarket belt are both unused and highly recommended.
Another recommended point is that it has been overhauled twice by Patek Philippe in the past, most recently in March 2019, so you can wear it with even more peace of mind.
The accessories include booklets and other accessories, and the inner box is in good condition for its age.
The selling price is 3,289,000 yen (tax included).
Recently, I feel that there is a growing demand for world time watches overseas. Each generation of world time watches has its own merits, but personally, I like the first generation "Ref. 5110" the best. If you are interested, please feel free to contact me and I will give you a push. (laughs)
"Ref.5146G-001" Annual Calendar 18KWG
When I first saw the first annual calendar, the Ref. 5035, released in 1996, my only impression was, "Can you tell the calendar from a watch? It seems like it would be easy to set if you remembered how to do it?"
However, when I realized that as long as you kept the watch running, you only had to adjust it once a year in February, I was deeply impressed by what an easy and convenient function it was to adjust. I still vividly remember this.
The second-generation "Ref. 5135" was succeeded by the "Ref. 5146" model, which was released in 2005. The main changes include an improved movement, a corresponding change to the dial design, and an increase in the size of the case.
This is just my personal opinion, but the dial design of the previous "Ref. 5135" was very simple, and I felt it was too clean and unsatisfying. On the other hand, the "Ref. 5146" has changed the 24-hour display at 6 o'clock to a moon phase, a power reserve display that can be seen with + ~ - is placed at the 12 o'clock position, and the index has changed from Roman index to a combination of Arabic numerals (12, 3, 9) + bar index. Furthermore, the case size has increased from 37mm to 39mm, and the dial has become larger and visibility has improved overall. Not only has it become larger, but the creamy ivory dial exudes dignity, and I think it has an exquisite overall balance.
The movement "Cal.315 S IRM QA LU" seen through the skeleton back was later changed to "Cal.324 S IRM QA LU". This increased the vibration frequency from 21,600 vibrations/hour to 28,800 vibrations/hour, making the accuracy more stable.
Looking at the warranty card, we can see that this watch is equipped with the same movement, "Cal.315 S IRM QA LU," as the "Ref.5036/1" and "Ref.5056P," and was sold before the change. Of course, the specs are higher after the change, but I think there are fewer of these watches available.
There is a faint scratch on the lug that has not been completely removed, but the case and buckle have been finished at an affiliated repair shop, and the watch is in very good condition with no noticeable scratches. It was also overhauled by the manufacturer in 2010 and 2015, and was also tested by the manufacturer in 2018.
This time, for sale in our store, we have replaced the strap with a new Patek Philippe glossy hand-stitched alligator strap, which is also an added bonus.
It is clear that this watch was well-used by the previous owner, and all accessories, including the booklets and box, have been kept in good condition.
The selling price is 3,388,000 yen (tax included).
I think it's a good price.
summary
What did you think.
Prices have been rising recently, especially for Nautilus and Aquanaut models.
Although the prices have increased compared to before, I think the world time and annual calendar models that we introduced this time are worth considering.
