Good evening everyone.

Today, we would like to introduce a highly anticipated "super model" that is packed with complex mechanisms and arrived at the same time as the long-awaited model "Ref. 5204P-011" that we introduced last time.

Actually, we have sold this model with a platinum case and black dial before. I remember as if it were yesterday how nervous I was at the time and got goosebumps, and this time it was a repeat (laughs).

So let's get started.

"Ref.5016R-010" Minute Repeater Tourbillon Perpetual Calendar Retrograde 18KRG

First of all, complicated mechanisms in wristwatches include perpetual calendars , tourbillons , and minute repeaters .

This "Ref. 5016" incorporates all three of the complicated mechanisms mentioned above and also adds a retrograde mechanism, making it an incredible, or should I say, "transcendent" model.

[Patek Philippe] models equipped with a perpetual calendar mechanism will never be priced below 10 million yen in Japan, and for models equipped with a standalone minute repeater, the official domestic selling price is by request, so the exact amount is unknown, but it is thought to be around 40 million yen.

I've listed the prices of each mechanism in an easy-to-understand way, but I think you can get an idea of how incredible these costs are just by imagining them.

The "Ref. 5016P-018", which has a history of being sold before, features a platinum case and a black dial, a classic combination.

※Ref.5016P-018

The PT (Platinum) case and black dial are a combination that everyone covets in any model, and they look cool and stylish, but there is also something cold about them. *Of course, they are really cool (lol)

On the other hand, the "Ref. 5016R-010" that we are introducing this time is a wonderful specification that exudes a warm and mature sexiness from the combination of an 18KRG (rose gold) case and a silver dial. If you have two watches, one with a platinum case and a black dial and the other with an 18KRG (rose gold) case and a silver dial, it would be the ultimate collection (combination) (lol).

The dial design is a classic combination of an 18KRG (rose gold) case, with Breguet numerals in the same color as the index and Breguet hands. On the inside, there is a retrograde date display from 8 o'clock to 4 o'clock, and a blued hand points to the date. There are small windows at 12 o'clock, 3 o'clock, and 9 o'clock, which respectively display leap years, months, and days of the week.

One thing to note here. As some of you may already know, there is a "TOURBILLON" inscription at the 6 o'clock position. In fact, Patek Philippe tourbillon-equipped models cannot be seen from the front. When you think of a tourbillon, you tend to think of something that you can see spinning around at the 6 o'clock position, but Patek Philippe does not have an "aesthetic of not showing it"... it seems to have this specification in mind for practical reasons.

The case diameter is 37mm, which seems a little small compared to modern watches, but because it is equipped with such a complex mechanism, the case is thick and the lugs are thick, making it feel larger than its actual size. Like the "Ref. 5004", the plump case is also cute. The large crown that makes it easy to wind by hand and the repeater lever at the 9 o'clock position create an extraordinary presence.

Here, we would like to provide a brief explanation of minute repeaters .

By pushing up on the lever at 9 o'clock, the minute repeater is activated, striking the time with three different gongs.

 ▶ First gong = time
⇒If the clock shows 10 o'clock , it will chime 10 times .
 ▶ Second gong = 15 minutes
⇒If the clock shows 38 minutes , it will chime twice .
 ▶ 3rd gong = 1 minute unit
⇒If the clock shows 38 minutes , it will chime 8 times .

To recap, if the time on the clock is 10:38, the first chime will sound 10, then 2, and finally 8. So, if you want to hear the longest chime, set the clock to 11:59 and you will hear 11 chimes, then 3, and finally 14 chimes.

*For more details, please see our YouTube channel.

The delicate movement of the tourbillon can be seen through the skeleton back of the movement, "Cal.R TO 27 PS QR AIG.1".

When you activate the mini repeater, you can hear the gongs being played along with the movement of the hammers, which is very artistic. You can see that it is a culmination of Patek Philippe 's commitment to craftsmanship, tradition and technology, including the fine finishing of each part.

I've never actually tried it, but I've heard that a closed back resonates better than a skeleton back. I'd definitely recommend that potential owners try it out.

As for accessories, when it comes to a super-class watch like this, even the box comes with a lock. Of course, I don't think anyone would put a watch in this box (lol).

The leather pass for storing the warranty documents is also luxurious, just like the "Ref. 5204" that we introduced last time. It is designed so that the additional closed back (back cover) and setting pin for adjusting the calendar can be set. Am I the only one who thinks that the setting pin is more luxurious than the usual one? (lol) All accessories are included, it is in good condition, and it is very beautiful.

The warranty date is June 2009.

The selling price is... 59,950,000 yen (tax included) .

summary

What did you think.

Currently, there are very few sales on domestic and international websites, and it seems to only be seen at overseas auctions.

Following on from last time, here is the long-awaited model "Ref. 5016R" that is the first of its kind from Commit. I'm pretty excited again (lol)

Also, as if in a chain reaction, some interesting models have arrived at Commit, which we would like to introduce to you soon.
