Lot.102 Nautilus Annual Calendar SS Ref.5726/1A-010
CHF 107,100 (JPY 12,975,165)
This is a white dial Nautilus Annual Calendar with a stainless steel (SS) bracelet, which was discontinued in 2019. The blue-black gradient dial is the most striking feature of the Nautilus, but the refreshing and pop image of the white dial is also recommended. Since it is an auction, I feel that the market price has gone up a little compared to before. Considering the soaring prices of the three-hand Nautilus model, I think this might be a good time to look.
Lot.103 Calatrava SS Ref.5565A-001
CHF 47,880 (JPY 5,800,662)
This is a stainless steel Calatrava, sold in a limited run of 300 pieces at the Geneva boutique to commemorate the reopening of the Geneva Salon (a Patek Philippe boutique) in 2006. As you can see from the reference, the case design is inspired by Patek Philippe 's masterpiece, the Ref. 565. I feel like I've seen it less and less outside of auctions recently. It's a model I personally really like.
Lot.128 Perpetual Calendar Chronograph Platinum Ref.3970E
CHF 252,000 (JPY 30,529,800)
The perpetual calendar chronograph "Ref. 3970" is a masterpiece by Patek Philippe, equipped with a Lemania-based movement. This model has a platinum case with diamond indexes on the dial. The condition of the case seems to be good, but I honestly don't know why it sold for so much. If I had to force a connection, it might be because the moon in the moon phase display is white. If you search, you'll find that there are actually very few moons that are white (lol). Personally, I'm very happy that a model like this sold for so much.
Lot.129 Perpetual Calendar Moon Phase 18KWG Ref.3448/17
CHF 441,000 (JPY 53,427,150)
This is a very rare 18KWG (white gold) case and bracelet version of the classic perpetual calendar, "Ref. 3448." It seems that only about 130 were produced, but the bracelet version is extremely rare, and there are almost no watches with this bracelet design and the reference ending in "/17." Needless to say, this is a collectible watch.
Lot.130 Perpetual Calendar Chronograph 18KYG Ref.2499/100
CHF 428,400 (JPY 51,900,660)
Next is the 4th series of "Ref. 2499", the second generation of perpetual calendar chronographs. The characteristic of the 4th series is that it uses a sapphire crystal windshield. Nowadays, it is a watch that can only be seen at auctions, but it is a model that we would like to handle at Commit someday.
Lot.159 Chronograph 18KYG Ref.130
CHF 144,900 (JPY 17,554,635)
It is no exaggeration to say that the Ref. 130 is the most famous chronograph among Patek Philippe watches, and is a rather small two-counter chronograph. The case is in good condition, and the fact that the dial color is listed as black in the archives is also a high point. Am I the only one who thinks that the winning bid price is reasonable compared to previous years?
Lot.160 Calatrava SS Ref.570
CHF 3,297,000 (JPY 399,431,550)
The large Calatrava "Ref. 570" is one of the most popular antique Patek Philippe watches, but the winning bid is astonishing...almost 400 million yen! The combination of the two-tone silver dial, Breguet numerals, spade hands, and the rare stainless steel case that appears to be in good condition is simply outstanding.
Lot.161 Perpetual Calendar Chronograph 18KYG Ref.2499
CHF 1,966,000 (JPY 238,180,900)
This is the first series of the "Ref. 2499," the second generation of perpetual calendar chronographs. It features square chronograph push buttons and a tachymeter scale written on the outer edge of the dial. There were only a few "Ref. 2499" watches produced, and this is undoubtedly the most popular series. It was common for them to sell for over 100 million yen at auction, but now it would be easy to sell for 200 million yen. The engravings on the back of the lugs are still in good condition, and the case conditioning seems to be good.
Lot.192 Nautilus Petite Complication SS Ref.3712/1A-001
CHF 201,600 (JPY 24,423,840)
The first Nautilus Petite Complication "Ref.3712/1A-001" was produced for a short period of time and was soon discontinued. This one was being offered for sale in an unopened plastic bag (single sealed). Looking at the warranty card, there is a "TIFFANY & CO." stamp on the retailer, but there is no "TIFFANY & CO." on the dial, which may lower the value of the double name, but that doesn't seem to matter (lol). This one also sold for an astonishing price.
Lot.208 Perpetual Calendar Chronograph 18KRG Ref.2499
CHF 2,450,000 (JPY 296,817,500)
The last piece we will introduce is the 2nd series of the "Ref. 2499", the second generation of the perpetual calendar chronograph. This model features round chronograph buttons and a tachymeter scale written on the outer edge of the dial. Like the 1st series, this is a popular series. The case is made of 18KRG (rose gold), and according to documents, it is said that there are only about 10 pieces in existence. This is an extremely rare piece. The winning bid of almost 300 million yen in Japanese yen is understandable.
