hello everyone.

Today I would like to talk about the new model from Patek Philippe that was just announced the other day.

This year's new model was announced at Watches & Wonders Geneva (formerly SIHH) 2021, where Patek Philippe will participate for the first time. There were many rumors and leaked images before the announcement, but the most talked about model was the Nautilus.

Rumors spread quickly in January this year that the 3-hand Ref. 5711/1A-010 model with date display and stainless steel construction, which had been the driving force behind the popularity of the Nautilus for so long, would be discontinued. Watches in stock at domestic watch stores disappeared from the market in an instant, and the market price overseas also skyrocketed to an unbelievable level.

One rumor that has been circulating is that the production of the most popular and simple "Nautilus" "Ref. 5711/1A-010" made of stainless steel will end, and that a new model will be released with a blue dial in titanium or a black dial in platinum, with the case size increased from the conventional 40mm to 41mm.

Then, perhaps Patek Philippe will release some kind of "Nautilus" in stainless steel at the end...?

As this story emerged, images of a green-dial Nautilus were circulated, either as a leak or out of curiosity about what it would be like to see a watch released with such a dial.

So, what was the outcome of that prediction?

That was a long introduction, but I'll briefly talk about the three new Nautilus models.

Ref.5711/1A-014 "Nautilus" SS Olive Green Sunset Dial

Boom!!!

As expected, the Ref. 5711/1A-014 has been released in the most popular SS (stainless steel) material with an olive green dial.

There is no doubt from the images that the olive green dial is very beautiful and vibrant. To be honest, the specifications other than the dial are the same...

There appear to be no particular changes to the automatic movement "Cal.26-330 SC" that has been installed since 2019, or to the case, including its size.

Although this is only a guess, it is highly likely that it will be manufactured and sold in limited quantities (one-shot) only this year, and it is expected to be difficult to obtain, not only from authorized dealers, but also through secondary distribution.

Ref.5711/1300A-001 "Nautilus" SS Olive Green Soleil Dial Baguette Cut Diamond Bezel

To be honest, this model had the biggest impact on me. There have been several Nautilus models with diamond bezels up until now.

yeah?

So what's so shocking?

Yes. Those with good intuition may have already noticed, but until now, the only diamond models available for men from Patek Philippe were the solid models.

There were no stainless steel models with a diamond bezel, much less a baguette-cut diamond bezel.

This marks the first time that a diamond version of stainless steel has been released .

And now that it's the Nautilus...

Although I can't buy it myself, it's easy to imagine that there are very few in stock (lol). This is definitely my number one recommended model, and it's one that I would love to see in person.

Ref.5990/1R-001 "Nautilus" Travel Time Chronograph 18KRG

The last model we would like to introduce is the Nautilus Travel Time Chronograph, which previously was only made in SS (stainless steel), but is now available in a new 18KRG (rose gold) model with a beautiful blue sunburst dial.

Again, this is just my personal opinion, but while the stainless steel "Ref. 5990/1A-001" is certainly cool and stylish, it also feels somewhat inorganic.

In contrast, this new model made of 18KRG (rose gold) not only has a warm case color, but also a glossy blue dial that stands out beautifully, giving the impression of being a completely different model, even though it is the same model.

The official retail price in Japan is 12,232,000 yen (tax included) , which is by no means a cheap purchase; in fact, it is quite expensive, but I believe this watch is worth more than that.

This is another piece that makes me want to see it in person.

summary

What did you think.

I believe there are some models for which production will end this fiscal year, and we will provide some sort of update on those once we have a clear understanding of the situation.

Recently, the popularity of "Nautilus" and "Aquanaut" has increased dramatically, and the market price continues to rise unbelievably. Therefore, it is very difficult to set the selling price.

However, I feel that the market price of Patek Philippe watches, which were produced in very small quantities to begin with, is unlikely to drop that much.

Many people may think that it's a difficult time to buy, but when you find a model you like, it may actually be the right time to buy.

Recently, we have seen a huge increase in transactions involving Patek Philippe .

see you!
