hello everyone.
This time, I would like to introduce some recommended dress watches from Patek Philippe 's current models. If I were to choose based on my personal preferences, the lineup would be similar to usual, so I would like to choose from a different perspective.
"Ref.5738R-001" Golden Ellipse 18KRG
The first one is the Golden Ellipse "Ref. 5738R-001," a model that is very impactful and cool in person, and has received more inquiries and feedback than I expected.
To commemorate the 50th anniversary of the Golden Ellipse, which was launched in 1968, a new model was released in 2018 with a large case and a black sunburst dial.
As far as I know, the Golden Ellipse was small by today's standards, had a thin oval case, and a very simple dial, which, to put it bluntly, gave it an image that was a little plain.
However, that image is completely wiped away when you see this model. The moderately large 18KRG (rose gold) case and the sunburst black dial stand out beautifully, creating a truly elegant finish.
When choosing a watch, it's hard to choose anything other than a round one, but this model is a good choice.
It is difficult to find second-hand items on the market, but the watches we sold were in unused condition, which was another reason we recommended them.

This model also has a platinum case with a beautiful blue dial, the "Ref. 5378P-001," but the official domestic retail price is 6,413,000 yen (including tax). The price difference with the 18KRG (rose gold) case is about 2.5 million yen, but if I get the chance, I'd like to see the real watch, and it's definitely one I'd like to handle.
"Ref.5196P-001" Calatrava Platinum
The next model we will introduce is the "Patek Philippe" model, the Calatrava "Ref. 5196P-001" which has been sold in several different materials.
The "Calatrava," which has been the driving force behind Patek Philippe 's popularity since its release in 1932, has been remade into a modern size and has become a new standard model, the "Ref. 5196."
Compared to the original "96*Kunroku," the size has increased to 37mm, but the Breguet-style Arabic indexes on the two-tone color dial are well-balanced and have a sophisticated feel, making them popular.
As I mentioned in my article on Patek Philippe Calatrava, I think many people who like antiques will feel a sense of nostalgia when they see the design of the dial and hands. This is because the "Ref. 570" released around 1940 had the exact same design.

Personally, I think it's a good idea to choose a slightly thicker calfskin strap for the 18KYG (yellow gold) case "Ref. 5196J-001". Although there are preferences for ease of use and color (material), for me, when it comes to dress watches with leather straps, 18KYG (yellow gold) is the one.
"Ref.5396G-011" Annual Calendar 18KWG
The third model we would like to introduce is the annual calendar "Ref. 5396G-011," a model that follows the Calatrava case design.
Those who recognize the case design will immediately recognize it as a derivative model of the Calatrava. The first model was released in 2006, about 15 years ago.
At the time, it was said that the dial design of the Calatrava automatic model "Ref. 5296G-001" released in 2005 was the inspiration, and it was a two-tone model commonly known as the "sector dial" or "Tokyo dial" among antique lovers. I think many people saw it as a novel design. (Laughs) However, the design was also said to have been inspired by dial designs produced in the 1930s, and I personally liked the design.
I've digressed a little, but the model I'd like to recommend this time has a simple and clean dot-shaped minute scale, baton-shaped three-dimensional hour markers, and Dauphine (dolphin) hands, and the dial is reminiscent of the original "Ref. 96" and the current model Calatrava "Ref. 5196". The design is timeless and can be used for a long time in a variety of situations.
"Ref.5396R-015"
The last one I'd like to tell you about is the "Ref. 5396R-015" which has a gorgeous dial and was recently sold in our store.
This gorgeous model was released relatively recently in 2017 and features a blue sunburst dial, gold applied indexes, and baguette-cut diamond indexes.
It's hard to get a sense of the dial's atmosphere when you look at it in the catalog, but when you see it in person, you can see that the dial is very well made and has an elegant finish, as you'd expect from Patek Philippe .
This can be said about all "Ref. 5396" models, but although the diameter is 38.5mm, which is considered to be a moderate size, the reason it has a greater presence than its size is probably due to the 11.2mm case thickness and flat bezel.
summary
When you hear "Patek Philippe , " the first things that come to mind are probably the Nautilus and the Aquanaut, but the vast majority of their models have leather straps, so for me, dress watches are what immediately come to mind when I think of Patek Philippe .
This time, although there are many wonderful models that are already out of production, I have narrowed it down to "current models" and selected some models that seem relatively affordable to talk about.
Of course, this is due to the revision of official domestic sales prices last year, but I also feel that the selling prices of some models on the used market have gradually increased compared to before, which makes me very happy.
There aren't that many on the market, but we hope to deliver as many Patek Philippe watches as possible this year.
see you!
