hello everyone.

Time flies and it's already November by the weekend. It looks like the autumn weather will continue this week, and it will be warm and comfortable during the day, so I feel like being a little more active while taking proper precautions against infection. If you are in Ginza, please come and visit us.

Well, this time, I would like to introduce some of the current models in the Patek Philippe catalog that I would like to try on and see in person, not because I think they will be valuable in the future. This is a pretty casual project, so please feel free to read through it (lol).

Ref.5960/01G-001 Annual Calendar Chronograph 18KWG

The annual calendar chronograph "Ref. 5960/01G-001" was announced at Baselworld in 2017 and features an 18KWG (white gold) case and leather strap.

The matte navy color of the dial and the elegant calfskin strap that is unique to Patek Philippe seem to be a continuation of the Calatrava Pilot Travel Time "Ref. 5524G-001".

The reason I personally like it is the overall design, and especially the color scheme. The matte navy dial is accented with a white meter scale on the outer edge, and the red chronograph and counter hands.

The calf strap is not too casual, and the regular buckle, rather than the folding buckle, is very well balanced. The leather straps are available in PT (platinum) and 18KRG (rose gold) cases, and I personally felt that they exuded elegance.

I personally feel that this model combines the best features of both the previous leather strap models and the SS (stainless steel) bracelet models.

When I first started playing Commit, I received an offer from a collector in Hong Kong for a "TIFFANY&Co." double-name model in unopened vinyl (single shield). I was confident in my heart that I could buy it, but I didn't take the plunge and I still regret not being able to get it (laughs).

Ref.5524G-001 Calatrava Pilot Travel Time 18KWG

The Calatrava Pilot Travel Time "Ref. 5524G-001" was the most popular watch at Baselworld 2015.

At the time, I think the watch industry was quite abuzz with its look, which was unlike that of a Patek Philippe (laughs). I'm sure many people remembered seeing similar watches from Hamilton, IWC, Zenith, etc.

As I mentioned earlier, the combination of the matte navy dial and the elegant calf strap is very innovative.

One of the popular models from Patek Philippe is the "World Time" model, but the only drawback is that it does not support daylight saving time. This drawback is not affected by the mechanism of the Calatrava Pilot Travel Time, and I think it is very excellent for everyday use.

Another plus point about this current model is that a locking mechanism has been added to the local time change button, preventing accidental operation.

The "Ref. 5524R-001" with a different material, 18KRG (rose gold) case, is also a very elegant and beautiful model, but unfortunately it doesn't suit me personally, so I chose this 18KWG (white gold) case.

Ref.5212A-001 Calatrava Weekly Calendar SS

The uniquely designed Calatrava Weekly Calendar "Ref. 5212A-001" was announced as a new model at Baselworld 2019.

I think everyone will be pleasantly surprised by the new mechanism in a stainless steel case based on the Calatrava.

The weekly calendar mechanism is probably not very familiar to Japanese people, but the design that is neatly incorporated into the dial is truly impressive.

As you may have already noticed, models with calfskin straps are a big hit with me (lol). Up until now, I have hardly ever worn dress watches or models with leather straps, but the three watches I have introduced so far are watches that I would like to try for daily use.

Ref.5235/50R-001 Regulator Annual Calendar 18KRG

*Source: Patek.com

The regulator annual calendar "Ref.5235/50R-001" features an 18KRG (rose gold) case, which was announced as a new model in 2019.

The "Ref. 5235G-001" was released in 2012 and was made of a different material, an 18KWG (white gold) case. It was a watch that attracted a lot of attention from the moment it was released, and it was clear that Patek Philippe had put a lot of effort into it.

This current model features a regulator (independent display of hours, minutes, and seconds) and an annual calendar, and is an interesting model in terms of both design and mechanism, making it a very enjoyable model to look at.

The reason I chose this watch was simply because I wanted to see it in person (laughs).

It seems that there are few official retailers stocking it, and I don't think you'll see it much on the second-hand market either. It's also recommended for those who want to choose a unique watch that's different from others from [Patek Philippe] .

Ref.5168G-010 Aquanaut Jumbo 18KWG

*Source: Patek.com

The jumbo-sized "Ref. 5168G-010" was announced as a new model in 2019.

This model features an innovative matte khaki green dial and a tropical band in the same khaki green color.

It has the same 42.2mm jumbo-sized case as the shiny blue dial "Ref. 5168G-001" that was released in 2017 to celebrate the 20th anniversary of the birth of the Aquanaut. The shiny blue dial is also very beautiful, but personally I prefer this khaki green dial.

Although the theme is different, I have been introducing this model in my "Patek Theory" quite a bit. What can we do with the imprinting effect? For me, this military-colored Aquanote on the wrist looks cool with a casual outfit such as a T-shirt and jeans. (Laughs) I personally love military things, so this model is my favorite, and it's one I would like to wear myself.

summary

The popular models Nautilus and Aquanaut look cool to anyone who sees them, and are now known as watches with high investment value. There is nothing wrong with choosing a watch from that perspective.

However, the watch that people want to wear is different for each person. As with other brands, Patek Philippe watches are especially full of various charms for each model, so you can choose a model that you really want to wear without being limited by its value. * "I want to have more money!!!" That's what I'm thinking (lol)
