Good evening everyone.

This time, we would like to introduce you to one of the most popular models of the Nautilus, which has sadly been announced to end production on February 1, 2025, which has just arrived in unused condition! Please enjoy until the end!

"Ref.5712/1A-001"
"Nautilus Petit Complication" SS

The Ref. 5712/1A-001 was released in 2006, the 30th anniversary of the Nautilus, as the successor to the Ref. 3712/1A-001, the first Nautilus watch to feature a long-awaited complex mechanism.

Along with the three-hand model "Ref. 5711/1A-010" with a stainless steel case, which is no longer in production, this model was one of the driving forces behind the popularity of the Nautilus, but much to everyone's regret, it has been announced that production will end on February 1, 2025.

I had expected this to happen soon, as production of the leather strap models "Ref. 5712G-001" and "Ref. 5712R-001" will end in 2024, but now that it has actually been discontinued, I feel sad, as if an era has come to an end, and am I the only one who feels this way?

By the way, the specifications of the buckle have been changed in the final version, but I have not yet seen it myself, and the production numbers are said to be very small, so I'm sure the price will continue to rise in the future.

Like its predecessor, the Ref. 3712/1A-001, released in 2005, this model has a gradient black-blue dial, a small second hand at 4-5 o'clock, moon phase and date hand display at 7-8 o'clock, and a power reserve display at 10-11 o'clock, all in an exquisite design with no wasted space.

Like this model, the edges of the case and bezel of a non-polished, unused watch stand out, highlighting the quality of the model. It may sound exaggerated, but am I the only one who feels an aura about it? (laughs)

The production period is about 20 years, but this one was sold in 2022, which is a relatively old model, and the bracelet has never been adjusted, making it an extremely rare piece. Also, the protective sticker still remains on part of the buckle, which is a plus. Because this is a popular model that has been announced to be discontinued, it will become even more difficult to find a newer model in this condition in the future.

The movement visible through the sapphire crystal skeleton back is the Cal.240 PS +IRM +C +LU, which is based on the ultra-thin automatic movement Cal.240. Despite being equipped with this complex mechanism, the case diameter is kept to just 40mm and the thickness to just 8.52mm, significantly reducing the stress of wearing the watch, which is typical of Patek Philippe.

The warranty is dated April 2022. The box, adjustment pin, leather-like pass case, and booklets are all in excellent condition with no signs of having been touched at all.

The selling price is 18,700,000 yen (tax included)

What did you think?

Although it was originally a popular model, production has already ended, and it seems that the number of units sold in Japan is decreasing day by day. It is fine to use the watch introduced this time in your daily life, but I think it would also be interesting to keep it in this condition as a collection piece in the long term, as it would be a dream come true. We will continue to introduce as many attractive and highly recommended models as possible, so please look forward to our next article!

See you next time!
