Good evening everyone.
The New Year's holiday is over and 2025 has begun, but influenza is apparently spreading rapidly, so how are you all doing? This is an important month that will determine the year, so let's get off to a good start by taking preventative measures such as washing our hands and gargling!
Now, at this time of year, some of you may be wondering if there are any models that will be discontinued this year. Various opinions have started to appear online, but this time, I would like to introduce some models that I predict will be discontinued based on my own opinion and prejudice, as well as some models that have already been discontinued but that I think are worth buying! Please enjoy until the end!
"Ref.5712/1A-001"
"Nautilus Petit Complication" SS

To commemorate the 30th anniversary of the Nautilus, the Ref. 5712/1A-001 in stainless steel was released in 2006, along with the Ref. 5712G-001 in 18KWG (white gold) and the Ref. 5712R-001 in 18KRG (rose gold) .
This model is equipped with the Cal.240 PS IRM C LU, a derivative of the ultra-thin Cal.240 movement with a micro-rotor that is representative of Patek Philippe. Despite being equipped with a petite complication mechanism, it is so precisely made that the case thickness is only 0.22mm thinner than the Ref.5711/1A-001. All the Nautilus models are very cool, but I like this model the best in terms of the overall balance of the dial design, size, and wearing comfort.
By the way, I have not seen any models with warranty dates of 2023 or 2024, and I have hardly heard of anyone purchasing it officially. Also, considering that 19 years have passed since the announcement, I think it would not be surprising if production ended soon. Therefore, if you were considering purchasing one, I would highly recommend that you do so soon.
"Ref.5167A-001"
"Aquanaut Extra Large" SS

Although released in 2007, the Aquanaut Extra Large "Ref. 5167A-001" is still a long-selling model.
This is the third generation of the Aquanaut and features a tropical band, giving it a sporty yet classic look. It has been hard to find on the market recently, but it has proven so popular that it sells out immediately after arriving in our store.
The case diameter is 40.8mm and the thickness is only 8.1mm, and it fits well under the sleeve of a shirt when actually worn, and has an exquisite size. In addition, the combination of the SS (stainless steel) case and the tropical band is so light that you will forget you are wearing it, and there is no stress at all. Although the tropical band tends to be casual, it can be worn comfortably with a suit or jacket style, which is what you would expect from [Patek Philippe].
In addition, the specifications of the folding buckle will change from the second half of 2021, and units manufactured from around April or May 2022 will be equipped with the current movement, "Cal. 26-330 SC." There are very few units with these changes on the market, so if you have been considering purchasing one, we recommend that you purchase it as soon as you find one.
"Ref.5270P-001"
"Perpetual Calendar Chronograph" PT

The "Ref. 5270P-001" was released in 2018 as the first in the series to feature a PT (platinum) case and golden opaline dial.
This watch has Arabic numerals applied to the indexes from 10 o'clock to 2 o'clock, and the beautiful golden opaline dial with black hands, indexes, subdials, and tachymeter scale gives it high visibility and a nice vintage feel. A diamond, which is also a proof of the PLATINUM case, is set on the side of the case at 6 o'clock, next to the moon phase adjustment button.
It has been discontinued, replacing the "Perpetual Calendar Chronograph" "Ref. 5270P-014" announced in 2022 with a PT (platinum) case and green dial, but since the production period was only four years, I think it is one of the models to look forward to in the future. In addition, this dial tends to be used only for special models among [Patek Philippe], so I don't think it will come out easily as a new product. Currently, the selling price on the market is also suppressed, so if you are considering purchasing it, we recommend that you purchase it as soon as possible.
"Ref.5196"
『Calatrava』18KYG, 18KRG, 18KWG, PT

The Calatrava Ref. 5196 was released in 2004 as the successor to the Ref. 3796.
Available in four materials, 18KYG (yellow gold), 18KRG (rose gold), 18KWG (white gold), and PT (platinum), this watch has been increased in size from 30mm, inherited from the original Calatrava "Ref.96," to 37mm, and uses the "Cal.215 PS" movement. Although the color of the dial varies slightly depending on the material, it is a combination of a simple silver dot-shaped minute scale and a dolphin hand in the same color as the case material.
Although the "Ref. 5196" will be discontinued in 2022, it still enjoys strong popularity, and there are particularly few circulating PT (platinum) "Ref. 5196P-001" and older models. This is a "Calatrava" that follows the original Calatrava "Ref. 96", so it is a must-have for Patek Philippe fans.
