Good evening everyone.

As some of you may already know, Commit Ginza moved to a new store on Monday, June 2nd, and successfully celebrated its grand opening. We received many congratulatory gifts and kind words from our customers, which reminded us that Commit exists because of our customers. We would like to take this opportunity to express our gratitude.

We will continue to strive to provide our customers with better service, so we hope you will continue to support Commit Ginza.

Well, this time I have two chronographs equipped with the rare and popular "Lemania-based" movement that I love, so I would like to introduce them while comparing them. Please read to the end!

"Ref.5070R-001" "Chronograph" 18KRG
"Ref.5070G-001" "Chronograph" 18KWG

Rare models equipped with Lemania-based movements: "Chronograph" "Ref. 5070G-001" and "Ref. 5070R-001".

The case has a three-dimensional appearance due to the thickness of the bezel and lugs, the sub-dial is the width of a tachymeter, and the silver dial gives it a highly practical design that not only exudes a sense of luxury, but also a calm atmosphere.

Here I would like to briefly introduce the "Ref.5070" series.

The first model to be released was the "Ref. 5070J-001," which was born in 1998 and was based on the "Chronograph Split Second" aviator watch manufactured in the 1940s, featuring a 42mm diameter 18KYG (yellow gold) case and a black dial.

Every aspect of this watch, including the subdials, tachymeter scale, applied Arabic indexes, and hour, minute, and chronograph hands, is adorned with gold, giving it an alluring aura. Despite its immense popularity, production of this watch went out in 2002, four years after its launch.

Following the discontinuation of the "Ref. 5070J-001", the "Ref. 5070G-001" was released in the same year (2002).

The slightly grayish white dial has been redesigned with black hour, minute and chronograph hands, sub-dial hands, applied indexes and tachymeter scale. The atmosphere has changed dramatically, giving it a cool and elegant impression.

Next up is the "Ref. 5070R-001," which was manufactured between 2004 and 2008 and has a warm impression.

The combination of an 18KRG (rose gold) case and a refreshing silver dial creates a refined and elegant finish. This is a model that we have not yet carried in our store, so this is the long-awaited first time it has arrived in stock.

The final model to appear in the "Ref.5070" series is the "Ref.5070P-001".

This model, which features a platinum (PT) case and a vibrant blue dial, was discontinued after only a year, and has been very scarce on the market ever since. We have stocked three of these in our shop in the past, and they have always attracted a lot of attention, with many inquiries, leading to their early release.

Now, let's get back to the "Ref.5070G-001" and "Ref.5070R-001" that we introduced this time.

With its stepped bezel and sturdy, thick lugs, the case design of the "Ref. 5070" is simply beautiful from any angle.

The dial design is perfect in every respect, with two counters (sub-dials) placed towards the center, leaf-shaped hands, applied Arabic numerals, and a double tachymeter scale and chronograph scale on the outer edge.

The Ref. 5070G-001 has a cool impression with its uniform indexes and hands, while the Ref. 5070R-001 has a warm impression with its RG color, the same as the case, for the hour and minute hands other than the chronograph hand, the sub-dial hands, and the applied indexes for the Arabic numerals.

Each has its own merits and preferences may vary, but which one do you prefer?

The movement that can be seen through the sapphire crystal skeleton case back is the Lemania-based Cal.27-70 CHR, which I have always recommended. Each part is finished so carefully and exquisitely that it can be called a work of art, and you can feel the high level of Patek Philippe's technical skill.

Although the "Ref. 5070R-001" has some wear and tear from use and some small, barely noticeable scratches, the case and buckle are sturdy and make a good impression. It also comes with all the accessories, such as the warranty card, box, "Ref. 5070" instruction manual, and repair details from several repairs in the past, making it a recommended watch that would also be suitable for a collection.

The selling price is 9,999,000 yen (tax included)

The "Ref. 5070G-001" also has some small scratches and inconspicuous marks from use, but the edges of the bezel and case are sharp, making it a good piece. The "Ref. 5070" instruction manual is not included, but a warranty card, box, pass case, and booklets are included, and it was overhauled by the manufacturer in January 2024, which is also a recommended item. Like the "Ref. 5070R-001," this is a model that is very exciting to look forward to in the future, and is a recommended model that is perfect for your collection.
