Lot.5
"Aquanaut Jumbo" 18KWG
"Ref.5168G-001"

Sold for USD 88,900 (JPY 12,484,227)

In 2017, to commemorate the 20th anniversary of the birth of the Aquanaut, the Ref. 5168G-001 was released with an 18KWG (white gold) case and a 42.2mm "jumbo" size .

This model has a black gradient blue dial combined with a tropical band in the same color, midnight blue, giving it a sporty and sophisticated look. We recently had this watch in our shop, and it sold out immediately, showing how popular it is. The official domestic retail price has been rising year by year, so now might be the time to buy.

Lot.7
"Nautilus" 18KRG
"Ref.5711/1R-001"

Sold for USD 152,400 (JPY 21,401,532)

The Nautilus Ref. 5711/1R-001 was released in 2015 in 18KRG (rose gold).

The combination of the gorgeous 18KRG (rose gold) case and bracelet with the black-brown dial of the same color scheme gives off a warm and luxurious feel. The warranty is dated 2017 and the watch is unused. Prices vary depending on the year and condition, but they are almost the same as the actual market price. Compared to the SS (stainless steel) case, the production period is shorter and the number of sales is likely to be smaller, so even taking that into consideration, this is one model to look forward to in the future.

Lot.25
"Perpetual Calendar Chronograph" 18KWG
"Ref.5970G-001"

Sold for USD 177,800 (JPY 24,968,454)

The fourth generation "Perpetual Calendar Chronograph" "Ref. 5970G-001" was released in 2004.

This is the last "perpetual calendar chronograph" equipped with the Lemania-based movement "Cal.27-70 Q", and since it was only produced from 2004 to around 2010, it is extremely difficult to obtain. This particular watch is missing a closed case back, but even taking that into account, the winning bid was a little modest. However, it is likely to become even more difficult to obtain in the future, so this is one to keep an eye on.

Lot.26
"Nautilus" SS
"Ref.5711/1A-014"

Sold for USD 381,000 (JPY 53,503,830)

The final model of the "Ref. 5711" with a stainless steel case, the Nautilus "Ref. 5711/1A-014", was announced in 2021.

This watch was so small that it was fought over all over the world. The sunburst olive green dial looks almost black under warm light or in low light, and olive green under natural light or in high light. It has a unique dial. What's amazing about this watch is that it is in a "single shield" condition with the plastic still unopened. Considering the official domestic sales price at the time, the winning bid was an astonishing 13 times the price, but it's understandable considering the condition and rarity. By the way, we are currently selling a near-new, extremely beautiful product in our shop. Everyone, be sure to check it out! (laughs)

Lot.31
『World Time』PT
"Ref.5110P-001"

Sold for USD 40,640 (JPY 5,707,075)

The first modern version of the World Time, Ref. 5110P-001, was released in 2000.

The "Ref.5110" is available in four materials, but the blue sub-dial and the diamond set at the 6 o'clock position on the side of the case are specifications that are only seen in the PT (platinum) case. I think the winning bid price was quite reasonable for an item that came with a warranty. There are fewer and fewer of these on the market every year, so this is another model to look forward to in the future.

Lot.32
"Aquanaut Chronograph" SS
"Ref.5968A-001"

Sold for USD 152,400 (JPY 21,401,532)

The Aquanaut Chronograph "Ref. 5968A-001" was released as a new model for 2018, with a stainless steel case and a 42.2mm "jumbo" size.

The bright orange used as an accent color on the chronograph hands, counter hands, dial, and composite strap makes this model extremely popular since its release. Prices have remained stable compared to when the market was skyrocketing, but including the results of this successful bid, it seems that prices are gradually rising. As this is a very popular model, we recommend that those who have been eyeing it start looking for it soon.

Lot.54
"Perpetual Calendar" 18KYG
"Ref.3940"

Sold for USD 73,660 (JPY 10,344,073)

The Perpetual Calendar "Ref. 3940" was released in 1985 and production was discontinued after just three years.

Among the first to third generation "Ref.3940", this one has small recesses in the subdials at 3 and 9 o'clock, and the dial and subdials are different colors. This particular watch only comes with archive accessories, but since this model is not widely available on the market, I think the winning bid was fair. Patek Philippe tends to focus on "luxury sports" models, but in the future, this model with a classical atmosphere will likely become more highly rated as an early production model.

Lot.56
"Perpetual Calendar Chronograph" 18KYG
"Ref.3970E"

Sold for USD 127,000 (JPY 17,834,610)

The Perpetual Calendar Chronograph "Ref. 3970" was released in 1986.

This model is popular for its classic look with leaf-shaped hands and bar indexes. It is equipped with the Lemania-based movement "Cal. CH 27-70 Q " and has a screw-down back. It does not come with a warranty, but the case does not appear to have been polished, and the thick, sturdy lugs are wonderful. Another point is the hallmark casually engraved on the side of the lugs. Considering the condition of this watch, I think the winning bid was reasonable.

Lot.58
『Chronograph』PT
"Ref.5070P-001 "

Sold for USD 234,950 (JPY 32,994,028)

The chronograph "Ref. 5070P-001" was released in 2008, marking the 10th anniversary of the birth of the "Ref. 5070" series.

This popular model combines a platinum (PT) case with a vibrant blue dial, creating a sophisticated impression. However, production ended the year after it was released, so there have been very few on the market since then, and there are probably still many people searching for one. We have handled this watch in our shop before, but it has also attracted a lot of attention, and we have received many inquiries and completed the sale immediately. Considering its rarity, the winning bid price is quite reasonable.

Lot.69
"Perpetual Calendar Chronograph" PT
"Ref.5270P-001"

Sold for USD 177,800 (JPY 24,968,454)

The "Perpetual Calendar Chronograph" "Ref. 5270P-001" with a PT (platinum) case was released in 2018.

This watch features a salmon-colored dial called "copper," and the indexes from 10 o'clock to 2 o'clock are Arabic numerals, giving it a unique and casual impression. Another point is that the movement has been changed from the Lemania-based "Cal. CH 27-70 Q" to the fully in-house manufactured movement "Cal. CH 29-535 PS Q." Due to its popularity, I think this is the model with the most room for growth in the "Ref. 5270" series, and the successful bid price this time was quite reasonable, so those who were able to purchase it were lucky!

Lot.118
"Perpetual Calendar Chronograph" 18KRG
"Ref.5970R-001"

Sold for USD 190,500 (JPY 26,751,915)

The "Perpetual Calendar Chronograph" "Ref. 5970R-001" was released in 2004 in 18KRG (rose gold) specifications.

It is highly popular as the last "perpetual calendar chronograph" equipped with the Lemania-based movement "Cal.27-70 Q". However, since it was only produced for six years, our store has only ever stocked two of them, making it one of the hardest models to obtain. Recently, we have received many requests for the "Ref.3970", "Ref.5004", and "Ref.5970" equipped with Lemania-based movements, so if you are looking for one, we recommend that you get your hands on it as soon as possible.

Lot.122
"Perpetual Calendar Chronosplit" PT
"Ref.5004P-021"

Sold for USD 317,500 (JPY 44,586,525)

The Perpetual Calendar Chronosplit "Ref. 5004P-021" was released in 1994 in platinum (PT) specification.

This model is packed with features that make it look simply "cool", such as the Arabic numerals on the upright indexes, the design of the sub-dials, and the leaf hands. In addition, the slightly small 36mm case is fitted with a large crown that also functions as a split button, making it a "highly impactful" design that feels larger than its actual size. There are many people looking for this PT (platinum) model, and it is becoming increasingly difficult to find one in good condition with all the accessories like this one. Although this is a very rare model, we hope to carry it in our store again in the near future.

summary

What did you think.

To sum up the results of this Philips auction, it seemed that the winning bids for models still on the market were close to the current market price, so with that in mind, we expect the market to remain stable for a while. If there is a model you have your eye on, this is still a good chance, so if you have any questions, please feel free to contact us!

see you!
