"Ref.5270G-014"
"Perpetual Calendar Chronograph" 18KWG
The rare model "Ref. 5270G-014" is said to have been in production for just over a year.
The slightly understated blue dial is accented with white subdials, a tachymeter, and chronograph hands, creating an elegant and luxurious design.
Now, before getting into the main topic, I would like to briefly review the lineage of the "Perpetual Calendar Chronograph" "Ref. 5270" series.
The first model in the "Ref.5270" series, the "Ref.5270G-001", was announced in 2011 as the successor to the "Ref.3970".
The movement has been changed from the Lemania-based "Cal.CH 27-70 Q" to the fully in-house hand-wound "Cal.CH 29-535 PS Q", and the basic dial layout is the same as the previous model, but two small windows have been added: a leap year cycle display between 4 and 5 o'clock, and a day/night display between 7 and 8 o'clock. By slightly lowering the 30-minute counter hand at 3 o'clock and the second hand at 9 o'clock to 6 o'clock, the calendar disc displaying the day of the week and month has become significantly larger, which has improved visibility and practicality.
The second-generation model was released in 2014 in two versions: the silver dial "Ref. 5270G-013" and the blue dial "Ref. 5270G-014."
The outer circumference of the dial has been changed from a railroad track to a tachymeter. Although it is a small change, the hour and minute hands, the hands of the sub-dials, and the dial indexes have also been changed to silver. In addition, the design of the sub-dials at the 3 o'clock and 9 o'clock positions has been changed, and the calendar at the 6 o'clock position has been enlarged, so the outer circumference of the tachymeter at the 6 o'clock position is now designed to bulge downwards.
The following year, in 2015, the third-generation model was released, with the silver dial "Ref. 5270G-018", the blue dial "Ref. 5270G-019", and the 18KRG (rose gold) "Ref. 5270R-001".
The third generation, with the scale on the outer periphery of the dial, looks like a combination of the first and second generations, and has a more refined look with an overall inward design and the hands of the sub-dials (second hand, 30-minute counter hand, calendar display hand) changed from leaf-shaped to thin and neat, making it a more complete watch. The scale of the calendar section at 6 o'clock has been changed to a cut design rather than a bulge. However, in 2017, production of the two models with 18KWG (white gold) cases will end.
Three years later, in 2018, the PT (platinum) case "Ref. 5270P-001" and the 18KRG (rose gold) case and bracelet "Ref. 5270/1R-001" were released.

In 2020, a new model with an 18KYG (yellow gold) case, the Ref. 5270J-001, was released. The revival of the 18KYG (yellow gold) case, which was the mainstream for previous "perpetual calendar chronographs," is something that many watch enthusiasts have been waiting for.

And in 2022, the "Ref. 5270P-014" with a PT case and black gradient lacquered green dial was released as the final model of the "Ref. 5270" series. Although the shape of the hands is different, I wonder if I am the only one who felt that it was a homage to the first model "Ref. 5270G-001".
Now that we have covered the genealogy of the "Ref. 5270" series, let's return to the main subject of the "Ref. 5270G-014" we will introduce this time.
The main feature of this model is that it is unused. It is in excellent condition with no visible scratches, and the edges of the case and lugs are sharp. The alligator strap is also completely wrinkle-free, in perfect condition.
The sapphire crystal skeleton back allows you to view the fully in-house hand-wound movement, Cal. CH 29-535 PS Q. Although it is equipped with a perpetual calendar mechanism in addition to a chronograph, the case thickness is kept to just 12.4mm, and it boasts a maximum power reserve of approximately 65 hours when the chronograph is not in operation.
The warranty date is 2014. All accessories are included and it is in very good condition. It is expected that it will be extremely difficult to find such a perfect model on the market in the future.
The selling price is 22,880,000 yen (tax included)
