Good evening everyone.

I wasn't able to participate in the actual auction, but looking at the results, it seems like there were some really good bargains on some models, so I hope to share them with you all. Let's take a look.

*For Japanese yen, we refer to the most recent exchange rate at the time of publication.

Lot.822
"Perpetual Calendar Chronograph" 18KYG
"Ref.3970EJ-014"
Sold for HKD 882,000 (JPY 15,752,520)
The "Ref. 3970" is the third generation of the "Perpetual Calendar Chronograph" and is equipped with a Lemania-based movement. This is the 3rd series, which combines a screw-down case back, triangular bar indexes, and baton-shaped hands. The 3rd series is one of the "Ref. 3970" models that was produced in large numbers, but looking at the photos, this particular watch has a sturdy case and comes with accessories, so I think it was sold for a reasonable price.
Lot.823
"Nautilus" [TIFFANY&CO.] SS
"Ref.5711/1A-010"
Sold for HKD 1,890,000 (JPY 33,755,400)
It is a double-brand model of [TIFFANY & CO.] and [Patek Philippe], and it is no exaggeration to say that it is the most popular of the Nautilus models, with a stainless steel case, automatic winding, and three-hand model with a blue dial. Moreover, this particular model is a "single shield" with the plastic still unopened! The market price for the Nautilus has been quite stable recently, but for a double-brand model of [TIFFANY & CO.] in this condition, I think it is a satisfactory winning bid price.
Lot.824
"Nautilus" SS
"Ref.5711/1A-010"
Sold for HKD 1,008,000 (JPY 18,002,800)
Next up is the ever-popular Nautilus Ref. 5711/1A-010 in an unopened vinyl "single shield." What's particularly noteworthy is that it's equipped with the new movement, Cal. 26-330 SC, which was also featured in the previous Patek theory. Commit Ginza (hereafter referred to as our store) recently received a non-polished, beautiful model equipped with the new movement, which went on sale the day after it was posted on our website. To be honest, I think the winning bid was quite reasonable given the condition.
Lot.826
"Aquanaut Travel Time Advanced Research" 18KWG
"Ref.5650G-001"
Sold for HKD 3,780,000 (JPY 67,510,800)
In 2017, the Ref. 5650G-001 was released in a limited edition of 500 pieces worldwide to commemorate the 20th anniversary of the Aquanaut. The 18KWG (white gold) case is equipped with a travel time mechanism, and the dial is open from 8 o'clock to 10 o'clock, allowing you to experience Patek Philippe's technological innovations. The winning bid at Christies in Hong Kong on May 24th this year was HKD 5,292,000, so I think it was a very good deal. However, it's almost 70 million yen in Japanese yen, so I don't think it's cheap! (laughs) It's almost 10 times the price of the domestic regular sales price at the time of release, and I've actually seen this model, but I think it's a cool and dreamy watch.
Lot.832
"Nautilus" SS
"Ref.5711/1A-011"
Sold for HKD 730,800 (JPY 13,052,088)
The white dial "Ref. 5711/1A-011" was released in 2012. This is a minor change model of the popular three-hand model "Ref. 5711/1A-001" released in 2006 to commemorate the 30th anniversary of the birth of "Nautilus". Unlike the classic blue dial, it gives a somewhat pop impression. Production ended in 2020, one year earlier than the blue dial, but it is well known that it is worn by Lionel Messi, the world-famous superstar who is currently playing as the captain of the Argentina national team in the Qatar World Cup. We also have a non-polished, high-year model (warranty date August 2017) in good condition. This is also available at a reasonable selling price, so please contact us if you are looking for one.
Lot.833
"Annual Calendar Chronograph" SS
"Ref.5960/1A-011"
Sold for HKD 756,000 (JPY JPY 13,502,160)
If you are familiar with the stainless steel case of the "Ref. 5960", you may have noticed something odd about this watch. This is a special "Ref. 5960/1A" that was given to the players and coaches by the then-president of Leicester City FC, a team in the English Premier League that former Japanese national soccer player Shinji Okazaki played for, to commemorate the team's victory in the Premier League. In addition to the chronograph hands and counter hands being Leicester City colors, the sapphire crystal back cover features a fox, the team's emblem. It was a long time ago, but I had the opportunity to see the watch in person, and I thought it was very cool. It is a priceless model, but I personally think the winning bid was quite reasonable.
Lot.858
"Perpetual Calendar Chronograph" 18KYG
"Ref.2499"
Sold for HKD 10,656,000 (JPY 190,316,160)
This is the first series of the "Ref. 2499," the second generation of Patek Philippe's "Perpetual Calendar Chronograph." Its most distinctive feature is that it is the only watch to use square push buttons. It often combines Arabic indexes with leaf-shaped hands, and features a tachymeter on the outer periphery of the dial, making it a perfect watch in every respect. Very few were made, and they are rarely seen except at auctions, but the case condition of this particular watch seems to be very good. The winning bid was just under 200 million yen! That's quite reasonable!
Lot.920
"Perpetual Calendar Chronosplit" PT
"Ref.5004P-033"
Sold for HKD 2,772,000 (JPY 49,507,920)
The "Ref.5004P-033" is a popular "Perpetual Calendar Chronosplit" with a Lemania movement, with a black dial and diamond indexes. What is noteworthy is that it also comes with a special order white dial with diamond indexes. Obviously, this kind of order is not available to everyone, and only special customers can receive it, so it is extremely rare. In fact, the same model was put up for auction at the same PHILLIPS auction held in Geneva in November 2020, two years ago, and the winning bid was about 33 million yen. It has increased in price by about 30% in the past two years. We are very excited to see what the future holds for models equipped with Lemania movements.
Lot.987
"Aquanaut" 18KWG
"Ref.5168G-001"
Sold for HKD 693,000 (JPY 12,376,980)
In 2017, to commemorate the 20th anniversary of the birth of the Aquanaut, the Ref. 5168G-001 was released in 18KWG (white gold) with a 42.2mm case size, making it a "jumbo" size. The black gradient blue dial and the tropical band made of the same color, midnight blue, give this model a sophisticated impression. Of particular note is that it is equipped with the new movement, Cal. 26-330 SC. We have recently received a non-polished model equipped with the new movement, so if you are interested, please feel free to contact us.
Lot.1068
"Perpetual Calendar Chronograph" 18KWG
"Ref.5970G-001"
Sold for HKD 1,512,000 (JPY 27,004,320)
The Ref. 5970, announced as the successor to the Ref. 3970, the third generation of the Perpetual Calendar Chronograph, is the last Perpetual Calendar Chronograph equipped with a Lemania-based movement. The 18KWG (white gold) and 18KRG (rose gold) cases were announced at Baselworld in 2004, but this grayish silver dial is a very cool watch. At the PHILLIPS sale held in Geneva on November 5th and 6th, the winning bid was close to 40 million yen, so I think the winner was very lucky.
Lot.1069
"Perpetual Calendar Chronograph" PT
"Ref.3970EP-019"
Sold for HKD 1,134,000 (JPY 20,253,240)
The third generation of the "Perpetual Calendar Chronograph" is the "Ref. 3970" equipped with a Lemania-based movement. This is a gorgeous piece with a platinum case and a black dial with diamond indexes. It does not seem to come with a replacement closed back, but the winning bid reached 20 million yen. It is rarely seen on the market anymore, but it is a model that will continue to be exciting to watch in the future.
summary
What did you think.
The results of the PHILLIPS auctions held in Geneva and Hong Kong in November made it very difficult to read the current market conditions. However, the fact that the winning bids are reasonable or go higher than expected is one of the joys of an auction.
We currently have more attractive Patek Philippe watches than ever before in our store. We understand that you may be busy as the end of the year approaches, but we look forward to seeing you there.
see you!
