Good evening everyone.

Today, we would like to introduce two long-awaited Grand Complication models that have arrived in stock for the first time in a long time: "Ref. 5204P-011" and "Ref. 5204P-010."

Moreover, one of the watches we are introducing is in what is called a "single-sealed" condition, with the plastic still unopened. As you can see from the results of recent overseas watch auctions, models with Lemania-based movements are especially popular and are rising in price. Naturally, they are rarely seen both at home and abroad, and are extremely difficult to obtain, including the price. Under these circumstances, the current successor models, the "Perpetual Calendar Chronograph" "Ref. 5270" and the "Perpetual Calendar Chronosplit" "Ref. 5204," are still worth buying, although the market price is gradually increasing compared to the current domestic regular sales price, depending on the material.

I hope you will keep the above in mind as you read this article on Patek Philippe. So let's get started.

"Ref.5204P-011"
"Perpetual Calendar Chronosplit" Platinum

In 2012, the successor to the "Ref.5004" with a Lemania-based movement, the "Ref.5204P-001" was announced with a platinum case and silver dial, equipped with the new horizontal clutch type split-seconds hand chronograph hand-wound movement "Cal.CHR 29-535 PS Q", which was developed and manufactured entirely in-house. This movement is based on the in-house hand-wound chronograph mounted on the "Perpetual Calendar Chronograph" "Ref.5270" announced in 2011, with the addition of a split-seconds hand mechanism.

This is the black dial of the "Ref. 5204P" that was announced at Baselworld in 2014. The combination of PT (platinum) case and black dial is not actually available in all Patek Philippe models, but has been seen mostly in high-end models.

The dial design has been enlarged, with the calendar window at the 12 o'clock position showing the day and month, and the display itself is now very easy to read, with white characters on a black background. There is also a leap year window at the 4-5 o'clock position, and a window at the 7-8 o'clock position showing day and night in white and blue. The moon phase at the 6 o'clock position has been boldly redesigned, with the window that was previously cut out at the top now being cut out at the bottom. The date display around the outside of the moon phase has also been made easier to read, with larger numbers. Furthermore, the hour and minute hands and dial indexes are now luminous, improving visibility at night. It is clear that while inheriting tradition, they are also putting effort into improving practicality.

The chronograph can be started and stopped with the push button at 2 o'clock, all measurements can be reset with the push button at 4 o'clock, and the split-seconds can be started and stopped with a push button integrated with the crown. This large crown has an outstanding presence, creating an aura of something extraordinary. As you can see from the side, the case is thicker due to the addition of the split-seconds, but at 14.3mm, it's a stress-free size. Personally, I love the chunky feel. (laughs)

The movement seen through the skeleton back is the "Cal. CH 29-535 PS Q", which was developed and manufactured entirely in-house. The previous "Ref. 5004" often had problems with the split-seconds, but this seems to have been improved. When you take a close look at the movement that Patek Philippe is proud of, you can't help but be captivated.

The warranty date is June 2015. As for the accessories, the box is not for the "Ref. 5204", and the additional closed back and setting pin for calendar adjustment are missing, but the condition of the watch is good and the selling price is set reasonably.

The selling price is 34,980,000 yen (tax included)

The current model has an 18KRG (rose gold) case and 18KWG (white gold), and the domestic list price is 42,438,000 yen (tax included). There are no units for sale in Japan, and compared to the overseas sales price, it is priced at a very reasonable price. Regrettably, production ended in 2019, and I think there are many people looking for a black dial, so this is a recommended watch for those looking for one.

"Ref.5204P-010"
"Perpetual Calendar Chronosplit" Platinum

Next, is it a minor change to the original "Ref. 5204P-001"? Or were they sold at the same time? I can't say for sure because I can't find the exact documents, but it is thought that the "Ref. 5204P-010" was released at the same time as the black dial model introduced earlier, or a little earlier.

I think it's the border of the dial index and the color of the hour and minute hands that have changed from black to silver. If the "Ref. 5204P-001" actually comes in stock, I'd like to verify it.

The amazing thing about this watch is obvious at a glance! It is a "single shield" with the plastic still unopened, just as it was when it arrived at the store. I have seen many watches in this condition in the past, but it is rare to see such a special model.

This is a perfect deadstock item with a tag with the movement number and case number, and a paper sleeve. It would be interesting to open it and use it, or keep it as part of your collection.

Although you can only see it through the plastic, the "Cal. CH 29-535 PS Q", which was developed and manufactured entirely in-house, is very beautiful. You will want to open the package without even realizing it... The fact that you can see it but not really see it tickles the hearts of watch enthusiasts. (laughs)

The warranty date is July 2014. Of course, all accessories are included. As mentioned before, the leather holder is of a high-quality design, which makes it stand out from the rest.

The selling price is 43,780,000 yen (tax included)

This one is also not in stock in Japan, and even on the famous overseas website "Chrono24", there are only three units listed, excluding the one sold by our store. Of course, there are no dead stock "single shields", and the selling price is set at over 40 million yen in Japanese yen. It's a great piece to use after the opening ceremony, or to keep as it is as part of your collection!

summary

What did you think.

Recently, I feel that models whose prices have soared as speculation and investment targets are starting to calm down, and models that should be valued are being reevaluated. (This is my personal opinion.) This time, we received two wonderful and amazing models at a good time, so we introduced them in this Patek Philippe theory. If you are interested, please contact Abe.

Finally, the temperature is dropping and the cold days will continue, so please take good care of your health.

see you!
