Good evening everyone.

Time flies and we are already two-thirds of the way through September, but due to the large typhoon, it may be difficult to go out even during the three-day weekend.

While I was thinking about how I could bring you a fun column, I came across the very gorgeous and popular model " Aquanaut Extra Large Baguette Diamond " " Ref. 5167/300G-010 " that has just arrived for the first time, so I would like to introduce it to you. This extremely rare model was sold at the Hong Kong auction held on May 24th by CHRISTIE'S, one of the world's three major auction houses, for 61,094,880 yen (exchange rate at the time of the auction), including commission (26%). If you calculate it based on the current exchange rate of the weak yen, the amount is a whopping 68,183,640 yen.

Please watch until the end and enjoy.

"Ref.5167/300G-010"
"Aquanaut Extra Large Baguette Diamond" 18KWG

I was aware of the existence of this model, but it is a rare piece that is rarely seen even at overseas auctions, so I never dreamed that it would actually come into stock.

As mentioned above, as described in the listing description by CHRISTIE'S, this is a very special model that is not even listed in the Patek Philippe catalog, and only about 10 pieces were produced, along with the 18KRG (rose gold) case "Ref. 5167/300R-010". It seems that it was delivered only to the most special customers of Patek Philippe.

Without any other information, one might think that the watch was made of stainless steel with diamonds set in it afterwards, but when you actually hold the watch in your hands and check its weight, you will see that it is an original made of 18KWG (white gold).

There have been several models with diamonds set in the bezel up until now, but this model has baguette-cut diamonds set not only in the bezel, but also on the case sides and lugs. You can tell at a glance that this is a special and gorgeous model.

The warranty states that a total of 101 diamonds, totaling 6.32 carats, are used in this watch. Watches set with many diamonds can look flashy or a little vulgar depending on how you look at them, but I think that the fact that they look rather noble and elegant is unique to Patek Philippe, which reigns supreme among the many watch brands.

Since we don't get this kind of model in stock very often, we'll also post a picture of the crown side. When you see the diamonds set all the way up to the crown guard, you can really see Patek Philippe's commitment to detail.

The famous movement, "Cal. 324 SC," with a power reserve of approximately 45 hours, can be seen through the sapphire glass skeleton back cover and is beautiful no matter how many times you look at it.

Of course, the folding buckle is also made of 18KWG (white gold). All current Aquanaut models have been changed to different specifications, but many people still support the folding buckle that has been used for a long time.

The warranty date is 2017. The box, pass case, booklets and accessories are all included and are in very good condition. The paper envelope that holds the pass case also has a sticker with the reference and serial number of this model, making it a great collection piece.

The selling price is 44,880,000 yen (tax included)

As mentioned at the beginning, this watch was sold at a Christie's auction in Hong Kong in May this year for over 60 million yen, which is about 70 million yen at the current exchange rate. There is no doubt that this is a high price, but considering that it is reasonably priced and that it was produced in only about 10 units, making it extremely difficult to obtain, this is a model that we are very excited to see develop in the future.

It is extremely rare for a model like this to arrive in stock, but we have also received the 18KRG (rose gold) case "Ref. 5167/300R-010"!!! It is unlikely that two of these models will be available in the future, so we took a commemorative photo of the two.

For more details about this model, please check our website, but the warranty date is relatively recent, in 2021, and the folding buckle is also a new specification.

This watch, which costs the same as the 18KWG (white gold) case, emphasizes the diamonds more, and both watches are very cool, so we hope you will choose the one you like!
