Good evening everyone.
How are you all doing these hot and humid days? The number of people infected with the coronavirus is increasing again, so let's do what we can to prevent it.
Well, this time we have two attractive "Perpetual Calendar" watches, "Ref. 5327R-001" and "Ref. 3940R", in stock, so we would like to introduce them to you. Unfortunately, they may be sold out before we can introduce them to you, so please understand if that happens.
"Ref.5327R-001"
"Perpetual Calendar" 18KRG
As the successor to the Ref. 5140, which was released in 2006, the Ref. 5327R-001 was released in 2016 in three materials: YG (yellow gold) with a white dial, RG (rose gold) with an ivory dial, and WG (white gold) with a blue sunburst dial.
[ Changes from the previous "Ref.5140" ] ▶Dial index changed from bar index to Arabic index ▶The needles were changed from dolphin needles to leaf needles. ▶Case diameter: from 37.2mm to 39mm ▶ Both sides of the case are hollowed out, creating a design that is characteristic of recent Patek Philippe watches.
Each has its own merits, but in my personal opinion, I prefer the so-called "modern" "Ref. 5327R-001" which brings a classic atmosphere into the modern era.
All three materials are beautiful, but the 18KRG case version we are introducing this time features an antique ivory lacquered dial, applied Breguet indexes, and leaf hands, and looks even cooler in person than it does in the photos.
The movement that can be seen from the skeleton back is the "Cal. 240 Q" that has been used in three generations of "Ref. 3940", "Ref. 5140" and "Ref. 5327". The Calatrava mark on the micro rotor is beautiful, and Patek Philippe movements are something you never get tired of looking at.
The adjustment pin, genuine winding box, and winding box adapter are missing, but the watch is in excellent condition with only slight scratches from trying it on. The warranty date is September 2021, so there is more than one year left of the manufacturer's warranty, making it a recommended purchase. It also comes with two unused genuine alligator straps.
The selling price is 7,270,000 yen (tax included)
Domestic sales price: Lowest price 12,628,000 yen (tax included)
Considering the year and condition, the selling price is very reasonable and attractive, and I think it is a watch that will be exciting to watch in the future.
"Ref.3940R"
"Perpetual Calendar" 18KYG
The Ref. 3940 was announced in 1985 as a next-generation perpetual calendar model, and was equipped with the famous Cal. 240 Q. When I first saw it, the case diameter was 36mm and the thickness was also kept to a minimum, giving it a rather modest impression, but now that I've learned more about Patek Philippe watches, I think it's a small but well-balanced model with a strong presence.
This is a long-selling model that was manufactured for over 20 years from 1985 to 2006 and was available in four materials: PT (platinum), WG (white gold), RG (rose gold), and YG (yellow gold). Most of the models on the market seem to be made of 18KYG (yellow gold), but I think that the "Ref. 3940" itself has become much less common recently. The dial variations are also broadly divided into three types, so please see below.
[ Dial variations ] First generation: Seen from 1985 to 1987, only around 700 were produced. The subdials at 3 and 9 o'clock are small and recessed Second Generation The sub-dial is larger than the first generation, and the large indentation is gone. The 24-hour counter at the 9 o'clock position is colored from 6:00 to 6:00 so that you can instantly tell whether it's day or night. The leap year indicator at 3 o'clock has no lines separating the numbers Third Generation The leap year numbers are now separated by a line, making them easier to understand.
By the way, until the early 1990s, the only models manufactured had closed case backs, but there was also a reference (model number) called "Ref. 3941" that had a skeleton back that was sold at the same time. After that, the skeleton back was also equipped with a closed case back. *As a result, the "Ref. 3941" was discontinued.
The movement, "Cal. 240 Q," which can be seen through the skeleton back, is a complete movement that will be used in "Perpetual Calendars" for a long time to come.
As a side note, in the middle of the third generation, the buckle was changed from a pin buckle to a folding buckle, the Calatrava mark on the micro-rotor of the movement was also removed, and it became 22K only. There are also other small changes. The "Ref. 3940" is an interesting model that has many discoveries when you dig deeper.
The watch we are introducing this time does not come with a warranty or box, but the case is in good condition and we highly recommend it.
The selling price is 6,248,000 yen (tax included)
It has been highly acclaimed overseas, and the market price seems to have risen considerably. It is a model that will be very interesting in the future, and if you are considering purchasing one, I would definitely recommend it.
