Good evening everyone.
Each model of Patek Philippe watch has various functions and attractive case designs, but what I have been paying particular attention to recently and would like to recommend to everyone is the model equipped with a Lemania ebauche (base movement). Already this year, the chronograph "Ref. 5070P-001" with a beautiful blue dial and platinum case, and the second generation of the third generation "Perpetual Calendar Chronograph" "Ref. 3970EJ-051" with an 18KYG (yellow gold) case have both been released early.
This time, we would like to introduce the PLATINUM "Ref. 5970P-001" "Perpetual Calendar Chronograph" equipped with the Lemania ebauche (base movement). Please enjoy until the end.
"Ref.5970P-001"
"Perpetual Calendar Chronograph" PLATINUM
* "Ref.1518" 18KRG Reference: PHILLIPS
The first "perpetual calendar chronograph" "Ref.1518" was born in 1941, the first watch in history to be equipped with a perpetual calendar mechanism and a chronograph (stopwatch) mechanism. This was followed by the second generation "Ref.2499", the third generation "Ref.3970", and the fourth generation "Ref.5970" which was released in 2004. When it was released in 2004, it was available in 18KWG (white gold) and 18KRG (rose gold) cases.
In 2008, the 18KYG (yellow gold) case was released, and in 2009, the long-awaited PLATINUM case x black dial "Ref. 5970P-001" that we are introducing this time was released.
Production of the "Ref. 5970" ended just under five years after its release, and regardless of the specifications, there are very few units produced and circulating on the market. However, the PLATINUM case we are introducing this time was only produced for about a year, so there are extremely few of them.
This can be said for all specifications of the "Ref. 5970," but I think the balance of the calendar, sub-dials, and moon phase on the dial, and the tachymeter scale written on the outer edge of the dial is perfect. Materials other than the PLATINUM case (WG, RG, YG) have silver dials, although the color is different, and the calendar display, sub-dials, tachymeter scale, and chronograph hand are black, whereas the PLATINUM case is the only one with a black dial, so everything is drawn in white.
In addition, the date display around the moon phase at the 6 o'clock position has numbers that are significantly larger and clearer than other materials, making it highly legible. This is likely because this was the final model released, and it was given a makeover to differentiate it from the rest.
* "Ref.5971P-001" Reference: PHILLIPS
For your reference, we have a model called "Ref. 5971P-001" that has a PLATINUM case and a baguette-cut diamond bezel, but the numbers on the date display on this model are the same size as the previous "Ref. 5970" model.
The classic image that is common to Patek Philippe's perpetual calendar chronograph models is inherited by the Ref. 5970 without exception, by taking the best parts of past models such as the case, dial design, and square chronograph buttons, but by adopting a 40mm case size, it has become the most modern finish to date. In particular, the PLATINUM case, even 10 years after production ended, is still as cool as any other brand's current models.
The side of the case at 6 o'clock is set with a diamond, proving that it is made of platinum; this is a feature that only the owner can enjoy a sense of superiority.
The movement that can be seen from the skeleton back is the famous "Cal. CH 27-70 Q" which is an ébauche of the Lemania chronograph movement "Cal. 2310". *What is an "ébauche"? ... A movement manufacturer provides only the basic base.
Although the base (ebauche) is made by Lemania, the highly refined movement, created using Patek Philippe's technology, is so captivating that you will never get tired of looking at it, no matter how many times you look at it.
There are small scratches all over due to use, but this is a non-polished, one-owner item.
This is a recommended item that comes complete with all accessories such as a warranty card, booklets, closed back, and adjustment pins.
The selling price is 39,930,000 yen (tax included)
There are no units for sale in Japan, and only a few are available on well-known overseas websites. Furthermore, with a sales price of less than 40 million yen including tax, this is a unit we can recommend for the future.
summary
What did you think.
It has been six years and four months since we started Commit, but we only have three "Ref. 5970P-001" watches, including this one. In the future, the prices of models with Lemania base movements will rise, and it will become harder to find the "Ref. 5970" in particular. We hope that someone will get their hands on this dream watch!!
see you!
